Polk (shoulder) isn't participating in full team drills during the Patriots' current organized team activities, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
That said, Lazar notes that Polk -- who is bouncing back from an offseason shoulder procedure -- has been running routes during team periods of practice with offensive assistant Riley Larkin, adding that the 2024 second-rounder appears to be going at full speed. Once Polk is cleared to absorb contact, he'll look to secure a role in a wideout corps that still includes DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne and Javon Baker and has added Stefon Diggs (knee), Mack Hollins and rookie third-rounder Kyle Williams to the mix. However, after a disappointing rookie season in which he caught just 12 passes in 15 games, Polk has some ground to make up before he re-enters the fantasy radar in re-draft formats.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
The Patriots took Polk with the 37th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft to give third overall pick Drake Maye a young receiving option. Polk spent one season at Texas Tech and three at Washington, with a 69-1,159-9 receiving line in 2023 accounting for about half of his career production. The late breakout was aided by fellow 2024 draft pick Jalen McMillan (third round) struggling with injuries last season, as both McMillan and Rome Odunze outproduced Polk by wide margins in 2022. On the other hand, Polk's 2023 was genuinely impressive, with his strong hands and regular contested catches standing out. At 6-1 203, Polk has the size to play outside in the NFL, though a 4.52 40 suggests he's unlikely to be a top deep threat even if the contested-catch skills translate. He and fourth-round pick Javon Baker should get the chance to earn playing time early on, joining a Patriots WR room in which every veteran had fewer than 600 yards last year.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Roster spot not guaranteed
Polk is expected to compete for one of the final spots on New England's wide receiver depth chart, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
New England had high expectations for Polk after selecting him in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but he proceeded to post just 87 receiving yards in his rookie campaign. Offseason signings Stefon Diggs and Mack Hollins, rookie third-round pick Kyle Williams and slot receiver DeMario Douglas are all viewed as locks to make the team. That likely leaves two spots among Polk, fellow 2024 draftee Javon Baker, Kayshon Boutte and Kendrick Bourne. An extra spot on the depth chart could be available if Diggs' recovery from a knee injury stretches into the regular season.
