Tournament Preview

The European Tour heads to Prague this week. D+D Czech Masters will be held at Albatross Golf Resort for the fifth year in a row. Last year the long hitting Haydn Porteous won by two strokes. This year there has been a few changes to the course, including making the 18th green more challenging with increased water hazards. The lengthy course at Albatross Golf Resort seems to favor bombers when looking at past leaderboards.

Thomas Pieters - $11,700 (6/1)

Thomas is the clear favorite, and even at $11,700 price tag I believe he is a must play. Pieters is coming in with great form. He has two T6s in his last three starts, and has made seven cuts in a row. He is a past champion at Albatross Golf Resort and has plenty to play for this week in regards to making The Ryder Cup team.

Lucas Herbert - $9,300 (33/1)

The young Aussie is quickly making a name for himself on tour. He has 3 top fives this season, one of them being a solo fifth last week at Nordea Masters. This will be Herbert's first time at D+D Real Czech Masters, but his skill set should do him well. He is long off the tee, averaging over 307 yards and is 39th in SG: approach on tour.

Haydn Porteous - $8,200 (33/1)

The defending champion enters this week the same as he did a year ago, with a T6 the week before. That could be a sign of good things to come for the South African. His season has been up and down, but it appears he is heating up at the same time he did last year. The big hitter has proven he can win here and seems priced to low to pass on, given his odds to win.

Justin Walters - $6,900 (125/1)

The bottom price tier will be necessary if you choose to take multiple golfers at the top. Justin appears to have less risk than most of the other choices in this range. He has made his last four cuts and has only missed five all season. He missed the cut at Albatross last year, but was T11 in 2016. He is ranked 30th on tour in driving distance and SG: approach.
