Course: Randpark Golf Club
Yardage: 7,595 / 7,114
Par: 72 / 71

Tournament Preview

For the first time in tournament history, Joburg Open is not being contested at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club. This year it will be played over two courses at Randpark Golf Club. Golfers will play the Firethorn and Bushwillow Course the first two days, and after the cut, finish on Firethorn for the weekend. Both are parkland courses with tight, tree-lined fairways and water hazards, so accuracy will be at a premium this week. Locals have flourished at this tournament, winning eight of the 11 times since it began in 2007. Recent form and ball striking will be considered heavily.

DraftKings Picks

Dylan Frittelli $11,400 (7/1)

Frittelli enters his hometown tournament on fire after winning last week at AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. Prior to that, he finished T16 in Hong Kong and T4 at DP World Tour Championship. He should be well-rested and feeling good after his victory last week.

Haydn Porteous $9,400 (16/1)

Another local I am confident in at the top price tier is Porteous. He's a past champion of this tournament, and although his victory was on a different course, I like the South African's chances to finish high this week.

Romain Langasque $7,300 (33/1)

Looking at the odds to win, I see great value here in Langasque. The young Frenchman finished T11 at Joburg Open last time out. He enters this tournament with excellent form after finishing third last week at AfrAsia. Langasque's ball striking is excellent, and I expect him to continue where he left off last week.

Jacques Blaauw $6,900 (80/1)

Blaauw finished T32 last week at AfrAsia, and he has enjoyed success at this tournament. He missed the cut last time at Joburg Open, but finished T7 in 2016 and 2015. Also, Blaauw is over 70 percent in fairways hit and greens in regulation this year and should outperform his price.
