Expert NHL Betting Picks and Parlay Tips for Sunday Night
Anaheim Ducks
at Chicago Blackhawks
The Ducks (2-2-0) and Blackhawks (2-2-2) meet at United Center on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. ET, and the game can be viewed or streamed on ESPN+.
Anaheim is reeling after a 4-1 loss at home to the Hurricanes on Thurday night as the Under (6.5) cashed. Lukas Dostal did a decent job in the crease, but he received just a single goal of offensive support for the second time in his three starts. On the flip side, the Ducks have allowed at least three goals in all four games, with Anaheim allowing 4.0 goals per game (GPG) so far this season.
The Blackhawks have had an adventure through the first six games. Chicago is good for at least two goals in each game, including an 8-3 outburst in a win in St. Louis on Tuesday. The Blackhawks have allowed three or fewer goals on five of six occasions, too. The Under has cashed in four of six games to date, while going 4-0 in the four starts by Spencer Knight in net, and the Over is 2-0 in two starts by Arvid Soderblom.
Chicago has won four of the past six meetings in this series since Dec. 7, 2023, with the underdog going 3-0 in the past three matchups, and 7-3 across the past 10 in the series. The Under is 3-1 in the past four meetings, while going 7-2-1 in the past 10 since March 23, 2022.
Knight (1-2-1, 2.21 GAA, .925 SV%) is the projected starter for Chicago, while Dostal (1-2-0, 3.39 GAA, .885 SV%) is expected to go for Anaheim. As such, the goaltending scales are tipped in favor of the Blackhawks. Let's take Chicago on the moneyline and go low on the total based on Knight being in between the pipes.
For the Ducks, Beckett Sennecke has managed two goals and three points, including a power-play goal, but he was blanked for the first time this season against Carolina last time out. We're going to bank on Sennecke to get back on track with at least one point at even money.
On the flip side, Blackhawks veteran Teuvo Teravainen has four assists in four games, and he is a good bet to grab at least one point against Dostal and the Ducks.

Boston Bruins
at Utah Mammoth
The Bruins (3-3-0) and the Mammoth (3-2-0) meet at 7:00 p.m. ET at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, and the game can be viewed or streamed on NHL Network.
Last season, the home team won each of the meetings, both one-goal affairs. Utah won 2-1 in overtime as short underdogs on Oct. 19, while the B's won 1-0 at TD Garden on Nov. 21, 2024. Both games saw the Under cash rather easily as well.
After a hot start for Boston, going 3-0-0 in the first three games, the Bruins have lost three in a row, getting outscored 14-9, including losses in Vegas and Colorado in the first two games of this three-game road trip.
The Mammoth doubled up the Sharks 6-3 as a heavy favorite (-255) as the Over (6) cashed, snapping a 4-0 run to the Under to start the season. Karel Vejmelka (3-1-0, 1.99 GAA, .911 SV%) has been sharp for Utah in the crease, while Jeremy Swayman (2-2-0, 2.76 GAA, .917 SV%) is expected to get the nod for Sunday in SLC.
The Under is 2-1 in three games on the road for the Bruins, although they've allowed four or more goals in each of the past three games. However, Utah has scored three or fewer goals in four of five games. Based on the recent trends, and the series trends in 2024-25, we'll go low on the total. Let's also side with Boston catching a goal and a half, as it's too expensive to side with Utah straight up.
