After a full Thursday slate, we've been handed a short, two-gamer on Friday. There is still some value to be had, though, and here are some player to consider for your lineups tonight.
Goalie
Cory Schneider, NJ at EDM ($8,400): As the Devils skate into hostile territory, don't expect Schneider to be affected. The Devils' netminder is coming off of a 37-save shutout in Vancouver on Wednesday night and looked very sharp in net. The Oilers are dangerous offensively but haven't hit their stride yet, making Schneider a viable option on a short slate like the one we have on Friday.
Center
Adam Henrique, NJ at EDM ($4,400): The Devils have not been scared to play on the road and have surprised many by averaging over four goals per game in hostile territory. Henrique has been a big part of their success early on as he has three goals and five assists with two of his tallies coming on the power play. He's skating on the second line and is priced very favorably in this spot.
Antoine Vermette, ANH vs. NSH ($3,600): With the Ducks ravaged with injury, Vermette has slotted in as a top-six center for them. He's just $3,600 and has seen at least 15 minutes of ice time in each of his last four games. That trend should continue as he should easily hit value.
Wing
Kevin Fiala, NSH at ANH ($3,200): The dominance of the top line for Nashville hasn't been there to this point, which has caused them to split up the Ryan Johansen, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson combination. This is where Fiala comes in, as he's been inserted alongside Johansen and Forsberg of late. At just $3,200, Fiala is also seeing time on the power play, making him a great bargain.
Jesper Bratt, NJD at EDM ($3,900): Bratt has been playing well of late with a goal and three assists in his last three games. Overall, he has four goals and six assists on the season. He's a good bargain and makes for a nice stack with Henrique as they skate together on the second line and top power-play unit.
Drake Caggiula, EDM vs. NJ ($3,400): The chalky play from Edmonton in this price range will be Kailer Yamamoto, making Caggiula a sneaky play with similar upside. The selling point here is that he sees time on the top power-play unit in addition to the third line. He doesn't have any points yet this season but did have five shots in goal in his last game while seeing 18 minutes of ice time.
Defense
Brandon Montour, ANH vs. NSH ($4,400): With the injuries the Ducks are dealing with, Montour, much like Vermette, has seen an expanded role. He's averaging more than 20 minutes of ice time and has four goals and three assists. He skates on the second pairing and top power-play unit.
Mattias Ekholm, NSH at ANH ($4,300): Ekholm gets lost in the shuffle a bit on the Predators blue line with Roman Josi, P.K. Subban and Ryan Ellis, when healthy, getting most of the attention. In 12 games, Ekholm has averaged more than 24 minutes of ice time, including a stout 27 minutes in his last game. He has a goal and four assists for the Preds and skates alongside Josi on the top pairing and sees time on the second power-play unit.
