Goalie
Connor Hellebuyck, WPG vs. VAN ($8,300): After two rocky starts in a row, Hellebuyck bounced back Saturday and has a fine matchup Sunday. The Canucks average the sixth-fewest goals per game. Hellebuyck is second among goaltenders with 24 wins this season and has some shutout upside, considering he's blanked opponents three times this year.
Center
Jordan Staal, CAR vs VGK ($5,500): Staal has been hot of late, and his salary is the highest it's been since Nov. 24. He has a point in eight of his last nine games with five goals and four assists over that span. Along with skating on the first line, Staal is a key part of Carolina's top power-play unit, where he has four goals and seven assists.
Joe Thornton, SJ at ANH ($5,700): Of late, Jumbo Joe has flashed back to his prime with his production. He has four goals in his last five games with an average of 16.52 fantasy points per game over that span. Six of Thornton's 12 goals have come on the power play. The 38-year-old veteran offers a solid floor skating on the first line and top power-play unit.
Wing
Tomas Hertl, SJ at ANH ($5,100): Hertl is becoming an important offensive weapon for the Sharks. He has 13 goals and 14 assists this season, but six of those goals have come on the power play. He has a point in each of his last three games with a goal and two assists over that stretch. Hertl skates in all situations for the Sharks, including on the penalty kill, where he has a goal and two assists.
Reilly Smith, VGK at CAR ($5,500): Smith has a point in four of his last six games, with two goals and four assists over the surge. He's had some success against the Hurricanes as both a member of the Bruins and Panthers with six goals and three assists in 13 career games against Carolina. Vegas gets an opportunity against Carolina in its second game in as many nights.
Corey Perry, ANH vs SJ ($5,900): It's been an underwhelming season for the former Hart Trophy winner, but the former MVP has two goals and an assist in his last two games against San Jose. The Sharks are playing their second game in as many nights as the Ducks play host tonight.
Defense
Justin Faulk, CAR vs VGK ($4,600): After a miserable offensive start, Faulk is up to four goals and 12 assists, with five of those points coming in his last five games. Faulk is part of one of the best young defensive groups in the NHL, and he's been there for the long haul. He's involved on the power play and averages 2.87 shots on goal per game.
Jake Muzzin, LAK vs NYR ($4,500): Muzzin has a point in five of his last six games and is in a good spot again tonight. The Rangers are playing their second game in as many nights and were pushed around be the Avalanche on Saturday. The best active defenseman on Colorado, Erik Johnson, had a goal and an assist in that matchup. Muzzin is often overshadowed by teammate Drew Doughty, but his profit potential is greater because he's set at a lower salary than Doughty.
