SLATE PREVIEW
There are four games on the NHL slate Friday. Chicago plays in Buffalo, Pittsburgh hosts Minnesota, Winnipeg is home to Carolina and Boston travels to Los Angeles. Below, you'll find suggested options for crafting an effective lineup.
GOALIE
Darcy Kuemper, LA vs. BOS ($8,200): Kuemper is off to a decent start with a 7-4-3 record and had a four-game winning streak stopped on Monday by the Caps, but couldn't be blamed for the loss as he only allowed only two goals on 25 shots.
VALUE PLAYS
Quinton Byfield, LA vs. BOS ($4,800): Byfield is projected to smash his career-high in scoring as he's already at 17 points and is on pace for 69 after campaigns of 55 and 54. He skates on LA's first power play, where he's registered a goal and four assists.
Mats Zuccarello, MIN at PIT ($5,100): Zuccarello has produced one goal and five assists in six games since returning from injury - with four of those points coming during the last two - while playing on the top line and man-advantage alongside Kirill Kaprizov.
FORWARD LINE STACK
Jets vs. Hurricanes
Mark Scheifele (C - $6,700), Kyle Connor (W - $7,800), Gabriel Vilardi (W - $5,600)
The Jets are led by their top three forwards. Scheifele and Connor each have 11 goals with the latter tallying 16 assists while the latter is at 13. Vilardi has posted 14 points and 45 shots. The trio has also combined for six goals and 11 assists on the power play.
DEFENSEMEN
Brandt Clarke, LA vs. BOS ($4,000): Clarke leads all Kings' blueliners with two goals and nine points after five and 28 last season while quarterbacking the second man-advantage as the team usually go with five forwards on their lead unit.
Shayne Gostisbehere, CAR at WPG ($4,900): Gostisbehere missed nine games, though has been great when available as shown in his 13 points while only missing the scoresheet three times. He was great on the power play last season with 27 points and continues to appear on Carolina's top group.
