DraftKings MLB: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Yu Darvish, TEX vs. OAK ($12,200): Darvish is the top-priced pitcher on the slate but is poised to deliver against an A's team that's tallied a paltry .305 wOBA against right-handed pitching that's the second-lowest in the American League and fourth-lowest in the majors. While they have been hot over the last week, Darvish has also tamed them on two occasions already this season, averaging 23.7 fantasy points over a pair of starts against them. He has also scored between 19.1 and 28.8 fantasy points in eight of his last 10 trips to the mound, making him one of the most dependable options.

Carlos Carrasco, CLE vs. DET ($9,900): Carrasco has stymied the Tigers over three starts this season, allowing just a single earned run over 17.2 innings, which has generated a 2-0 record and an average of 23.9 fantasy points per game. The Tigers have been solid against righties overall, but they have struck out at a 22.1 percent rate against them on the road, while also generating just a .289 wOBA over the last seven days. While Carrasco does have his hiccups from time to time, he's shown an upside near 40 fantasy points this season, including twice over his last five starts.

CATCHER

Buster Posey, SF vs. STL ($3,800): Posey takes aim at Cardinals starter Mike Leake, who's allowed a .369 wOBA and 39.5 percent hard contact rate to right-handed hitters on the road. Posey is a much better hitter in his home park, where he has a .361 wOBA, including .335 against righties. He's also decimated Cardinals pitching over the first two games of the current series, going 7-for-9 with a homer and four RBI. He may be catching Leake at the right time as well, as the veteran righty has a 5.23 ERA and .390 wOBA over his last two starts.

FIRST BASE

Hanley Ramirez, BOS vs. NYY ($5,100) Ramirez has a .308 batting average, six homers, 14 RBI and an average of 13.7 fantasy points per game over his last 10 appearances. He's blasted homers in the first two games of the series against the Yankees as well, and he brings a .381 wOBA at Fenway Park into Saturday's contest. He's also posted a 38.2 percent hard contact rate and 16 of his 26 homers at home, along with a robust 22.2 percent HR/FB rate. Yankees starter Bryan Mitchell might make for an appealing target, considering his .351 wOBA, 5.21 xFIP and 38.9 percent hard contact rate given up to right-handed hitters.

SECOND BASE

Daniel Murphy, WAS at ATL ($5,400): Murphy is in prime position to take advantage of Braves starter Josh Collmenter, who's yielded a .384 wOBA to left-handed hitters that rises to .427 when facing them at Turner Field. In turn, Murphy has decimated right-handed pitching all season, posting a .358 batting average, 19 homers and a whopping .430 wOBA when facing that handedness away from Nationals Park. His body of work against righty arms on the road also includes a 42.1 percent hard contact rate, and he has scored double-digit fantasy points six times in the last 10 games.

THIRD BASE
Chase Headley, NYY at BOS ($2,600): Headley has a good history against Red Sox southpaw David Price and provides some solid upside for tournaments relative to his bargain price. Price has shown some vulnerability against right-handed hitters at Fenway, where they've tagged him for 12 homers. The switch-hitting Headley has a .338 wOBA and 32.2 percent hard contact rate against left-handed pitching on the road, and he has a .340 wOBA over his last 14 games.

SHORTSTOP

Corey Seager, LAD at ARI ($5,500): Seager is the last bat in the Dodgers lineup that D-backs starter Shelby Miller likely wants to see, considering he's yielded a massive .466 wOBA to left-handed hitters at Chase Field, along with a 5.95 xFIP and 42.7 percent hard contact rate. Seager counters with a .405 wOBA, .224 ISO, 21.7 percent HR/FB rate and 39.8 percent hard contact rate against right-handed pitching, including three homers, 10 RBI and an average of 10.3 fantasy points against the D-backs in 17 games this season.

OUTFIELD

Hunter Pence, SF vs. STL ($4,400): Pence is swinging a hot bat, now sporting a 10-game hitting streak. He also represents another solid option against Cardinals starter Mike Leake's, whose struggles against right-handed hitters on the road were discussed earlier. Pence also has a solid history against Leake, slashing .419/.438/.677 over 31 at-bats. He's also bashed right-handed pitching in general, particularly at home, where he's tallied a .330 batting average, .383 wOBA and .278 ISO versus that handedness.

Mike Trout, LAA vs. TOR ($4,900): Trout makes for a highly appealing cash or tournament play against Blue Jays southpaw Francisco Liriano, who's given up 20 of his 25 homers on the season to right-handed hitters. Liriano has also surrendered a .372 wOBA against righty bats on the road during his two stops this season, along with a 2.18 HR/9, 25 percent HR/FB rate and 32.5 percent hard contact rate. Those numbers could spell trouble against Trout, who has a .389 wOBA and 43.5 percent hard contact rate against lefties, and a .380 wOBA over his last 13 games.

Charlie Blackmon, COL vs. SD ($5,700): Blackmon is the highest-priced outfielder on the all-day slate but could be well worth it against Padres starter Edwin Jackson, who has allowed a .440 wOBA, 6.58 xFIP and 33.3 percent hard contact rate to lefties on the road this season. Meanwhile, Blackmon's bat has been on fire, with five straight games with double-digit fantasy points, along with a .400 batting average over the last seven games. He's sporting a massive .501 wOBA and .472 ISO over the last 10 games, and he has a .401 wOBA, .275 ISO and 23 of his 27 homers on the season against righty arms.
