FanDuel MLB: Sunday Breakdown

FanDuel MLB: Sunday Breakdown

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Sunday's MLB main slate begins at 1:05 PM Eastern time and features 10 games. Below, you'll find which individual pitchers and hitters are primed to provide the best value, as well as the top lineup stacking options in this slate.

Pitching Overview

The slate's most expensive pitching options are led by less heralded guys like Matthew Boyd ($10,000) and Tyler Glasnow ($9,700) so owners who don't yet trust those guys will likely look to cheaper options. While Chris Sale ($9,200) hasn't been himself this season, his strikeout upside is massive against a Rays team that's one of two, along with Washington, whiffing more than 10 times per game.

Picking against Miami's league-worst offense is rarely a bad idea, so Philadelphia's Zach Eflin should be a popular choice at $7,600. Reynaldo Lopez ($8,000) of the White Sox will be well-rested after getting pushed back a day by Saturday's postponement. His overall numbers are nothing to write home about, but Lopez has turned a corner with back-to-back quality starts and a 13:2 K:BB in his past two outings, one of which was against these same Tigers.

Key Values/Chalk

Third baseman Yandy Diaz ($3,700) has amassed a wOBA over .400 against lefties in the early going, making him a strong choice for owners who aren't afraid of Sale. With a 7.43 ERA and 5.59 FIP, Sale hasn't instilled much fear in opponents this season. Toronto's Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($3,200) will likely only get more expensive as he gains experience, so grab the recently called-up top prospect at just $3,200 while you still can.

Mike Trout ($4,900) is almost always a good addition to fantasy lineups and should have no problem producing against Kansas City's Homer Bailey. Pete Alonso ($3,900) has been a revelation at first base for the Mets as a rookie, and he's primed to keep rolling against Gio Gonzalez, who has a very low floor in his season debut.

Stacks

Braves vs. Tyler Anderson (Rockies)

Ronald Acuna (OF - $3,800), Dansby Swanson (SS - $3,400) Ozzie Albies (2B - $3,900)

Anderson has lasted just 12.0 innings combined in his three starts this season, while allowing at least five runs in each outing, and this trio is likely to add to the southpaw's struggles. Both Acuna and Swanson have wOBAs over .500 against lefties, while the switch-hitting Albies has always been better from the right side and sits a shade under .400.

Twins vs. Dylan Bundy (Orioles)

Eddie Rosario (OF - $4,500), Nelson Cruz (OF - $3,900), Max Kepler (OF - $3,200)

Bundy has already surrendered seven home runs in 23.1 innings this season after giving up a whopping 41 in 2018. Kepler and Rosario both have the platoon advantage on him as left-handed hitters, while Cruz has more than enough power to take Bundy deep from the right side. Rosario has a massive .663 wOBA, Kepler has launched three home runs in his last two games, and Cruz has a pair of multihomer efforts in his last seven games, so you can fill out your whole outfield with Twins here.

Royals vs. Matt Harvey (Angels)

Whit Merrifield (2B - $4,200) Alex Gordon (OF - $3,900), Adalberto Mondesi (SS - $4,100)

Harvey has an 8.03 ERA and 5.90 FIP, and he's striking out a minuscule 14.3 percent of opposing hitters. Merrifield and Gordon are the cream of the crop in Kansas City's lineup, while Mondesi has a wOBA over .400 at home.
