FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

We're back with another seven games in the NBA on Saturday to help you build a winning lineup on FanDuel. Injury issues and a larger sample of rotations and minute distribution have allowed us to pinpoint some of today's top DFS ballers.

Point Guard

Rajon Rondo at ORL ($8,000): We have one game with an early start to tip off the weekend, with Sacramento traveling to Orlando at 5:00 p.m. EST. Rondo is definitely worth targeting for the early-slate games, as he leads the league with four triple-doubles this season. He just barely missed earning his fifth against Atlanta on Thursday, finishing with 14 points, nine rebounds and a league-high 18 assists. Rondo has scored at least 30 FanDuel points in eight straight games, and has topped the 50-point mark in four of his last seven. Orlando has been a disappointment on defense in the backcourt, allowing the second most FanDuel points to opposing point guards this season.

Matthew Dellavedova vs. ATL ($4,100): Dellavedova made his first start Thursday after Mo Williams was ruled out due to ankle inflammation. He promptly paid over six times his $4K price tag, scoring seven points with 13 assists against Milwaukee. He's a good bet for similar production against an Atlanta squad that may still be without Jeff Teague due to his own ankle injury, making him a great punt option to pair with Rondo.

Shooting Guard

Evan Fournier vs. SAC ($5,900): When the NBA season started, no one could have predicted that it would be Fournier, and not Nikola Vucevic, Victor Oladipo or Tobias Harris who would be leading the Magic in scoring, and doing so by nearly four points per game. Now that you know how good he has been, it only makes sense that Fournier has returned at least five times his value in eight games this season, including each of the last four. Fournier should also benefit from the shooting guard merry-go-round in Sacramento, where nobody on their roster has been healthy or productive enough to start more than a few games in a row.

Small Forward

Jeff Green at SAS ($4,300): After being inserted into the starting lineup on Nov. 13, Green has been the offensive spark the Grizzlies have been looking for, turning a four-game losing streak into a four-game winning streak and earning well over seven times his bargain $4K price tag in three of the past four. The only problem here is the Grizzlies are facing one of the toughest defensive teams in the league in the Spurs, featuring a great on-ball defender in Kawhi Leonard. That being said, Green's price is still just too cheap to pass on. Using him helps create a lot of cap flexibility, and his ability to score fantasy points in all five categories makes him a nice bargain cash play on FanDuel.

Omri Casspi at ORL ($4,200): Casspi may be in line to get the start Saturday against the Magic after Rudy Gay was forced from Thursday's game against the Heat with a shoulder strain. Casspi showed that when given the minutes, he can be an effective scoring option, doubling his fantasy points per game on FanDuel from 14.5 in March to 30.7 in April last season while filling in for an injured Gay. If Casspi draws the start, he should provide a safe floor while carrying the ability to jump up for seven to eight times his value.

Power Forward

Chris Bosh vs PHI ($8,100): When considering Bosh, there are three things that need to be considered. First, the Heat are at home against the Sixers, an elite spot to draw fantasy value. Second, Bosh has been very consistent this year, racking up five double-doubles and averaging over 33 fantasy points per game on FanDuel. The third point to note is that due to his $8K salary, and the teammates surrounding him in the lineup, it has been tough for Bosh to crack 40 FD points consistently, but he has a nice, safe floor for cash games.

Center

Hassan Whiteside vs. PHI ($8,500): If there were any doubt as to whether Whiteside's 2014 season was an aberration or a show of promise for this season, those debates should have been laid to rest after his triple-double (with 10 blocks) Tuesday at Minnesota. What's more amazing is that it wasn't the first time Whiteside accomplished the feat. Whiteside triple-doubled with 12 blocks against Chicago on Jan. 25 last season. We already know that Philly is bad defensively, and ranking fourth-worst in the league in fantasy points allowed to opposing centers may actually count as progress since they are starting a rookie at center who has underperformed as a rebounder. This game may be a blowout, but Whiteside may only need three quarters to do his damage.
