College Football Picks: Missouri vs Oklahoma Best Bets

Former Big 12 foes meet again for the second time following a 13-year layoff. These two programs are very familiar with each other, having played 97 times coming into Saturday's matchup in Norman. Oklahoma has a stranglehold on the rivalry with a record of 67-25-5. Missouri comes into this week's contest ranked 22nd in the country with a record of 7-3, while Oklahoma currently sits at #8 in the country with a record of 8-2. The Sooners' playoff hopes ride on every game the rest of the season, while Missouri looks to spoil the season of their reunited conference foe.

Missouri vs Oklahoma Betting Picks for Week 13

Both Missouri and Oklahoma have been anchored by their defenses all season. The two teams rank first and second in the SEC in total defense, with Missouri allowing an average of 277.5 yards per game and Oklahoma allowing 278.4. Oklahoma, however, has done a much better job of translating the limited yardage of its opponents into stops as it ranks first in the SEC, allowing just 14.8 points per game, while Missouri ranks fifth, allowing 19.9 points per game.

A big matchup in this game will be the Missouri rushing attack versus the Oklahoma rushing defense. The Tigers come in with the top-ranked rushing attack in the SEC, averaging 241.7 yards per game on the ground. On the other side of the ball, the Sooners feature the SEC's top rushing defense as they have allowed an average of just 82.2 yards per game on the ground. Missouri's featured running back, Ahmad Hardy, is currently leading the nation in rushing with 1,346 rushing yards. Hardy has been extremely explosive this season, averaging 6.8 yards per carry with 15 touchdowns.

Another big factor in this game could be the return of quarterback Beau Pribula for Missouri. After dislocating his left ankle in a loss to Vanderbilt, Pribula looks to have gotten lucky and did not have any fractures. Pribula's injury forced freshman Matt Zollers into the starting role for the last two games. Zollers did not fare too well in those two games as he combined to complete just 15-of-38 passes for 189 yards. If Pribula is going to play it gives the Tigers a much greater chance in this one and the betting line would indicate that Vegas thinks he will be playing.

Missouri vs Oklahoma Predictions for Week 13

The return of Beau Pribula will certainly help the Tigers, if he does, in fact, play, as he is still technically listed as questionable. If Pribula does not play, Missouri likely has no shot to compete in this game. Even if Pribula does play, I'm not sure how successful this offense will be. While Pribula was healthy, he was extremely streaky as after the first two games of the season, he went on to throw six touchdowns to seven interceptions in six games. Oklahoma and head coach Brent Venables do a very good job at confusing quarterbacks and giving them different looks, all while the defensive line is extremely tough and does a good job in both run defense and getting pressure on the quarterback without blitzing. While the return of Pribula is good for Missouri, I don't think it will be enough to overcome the ferocious Sooners' defense.

Missouri vs Oklahoma Player Props for Saturday, November 22nd

Beau Pribula Over 0.5 Interceptions

Pribula has been out of action for a couple of weeks and may need to shake a little rust off. Prior to going out, Pribula was loose with the football throwin interceptions in five straight games. Oklahoma does a fantastic job at making life difficult for the quarterback I think Pribula gives one away here.
