FanDuel Fantasy Football: Divisional Round Playoff Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel Fantasy Football series.

Quarterback

Russell Wilson, SEA at ATL ($8,200) – It seems pretty tough to trust any of the lower-priced options, and Wilson come in as the fourth highest-priced quarterback this week. Vegas expects this to be the highest scoring game of the week with the Falcons being home where the lowest combined game score of the season was 54. The Seattle defense has been much worse on the road, pointing toward this game being a shootout. Coming off a mediocre game in Seattle, most owners will steer clear of Wilson with a case of recency bias. The Falcons finished the season giving up the third most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, suggesting a big day could be in store for the Hawks' signal caller.

Running Back

Dion Lewis, NE vs HOU ($5,400)James White at the minimum price ($4,500) seems tempting, but for only $900 more, it's probably a better idea to go with Lewis. He has at least 11 carries in each of the last three contests while still getting a few targets in the passing game. Houston was in the middle of the pack as far as giving up fantasy points to opposing running backs this year, and with the Patriots such a huge favorite, this is a cheap way to get a piece of their offense.

Tevin Coleman, ATL vs SEA ($5,900) – The forgotten running back behind Devonta Freeman, Coleman has arguably as much upside. As already stated, the Falcons are expected to put up plenty of points and Coleman has been very effective as a receiver out of the backfield. He has four touchdowns in his last four games despite getting fewer touches than Freeman, showing his knack for the big play. A sneaky GPP play this weekend would be to fade Matt Ryan while using both Coleman and Freeman in your lineup.

Wide Receiver

Michael Floyd, NE vs HOU ($4,600) – Floyd played in over 73 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 17 finishing, with 36 yards on three carries -- including a touchdown. He should be even more acclimated to the offense with two more weeks to catch up, as well as the fact that a lot of the Patriots receivers are banged up. As a reminder, Floyd has the size to make for a big red zone target and the speed to get open downfield. He could end up being this weekend's Randall Cobb with regards to cost.

Geronimo Allison, GB at DAL ($5,300) – A lot of people will be on Cobb ($6,500) given the price, the dominant game he had last week and the likely absence of Jordy Nelson. Meanwhile, Allison made headlines this week for all the wrong reasons, as it was revealed he was charged with marijuana possession back in December. However, that shouldn't affect his status Sunday but could have people off him thinking he's not playing. The Packers run a lot of three-wide receiver sets, which will likely involve putting Allison out on the field much as he was the previous two weeks without Cobb. In those two games, Allison had 17.1 and 8.6 fantasy points with Aaron Rodgers spreading the wealth. He's not a cash game option, but will probably have lower ownership and be worth gambling on in GPPs.

Tight End

Jared Cook, GB at DAL ($5,400) – A more reliable play considering the Packers and the position this week is Cook. He's gotten at least eight targets in three of his last four games, showing that Rodgers is trying to get him the ball. It's worth noting the Cowboys gave up the third most fantasy points to opposing tight ends during the regular season, and with Jordy Nelson likely inactive, Cook could be one of the top options in the red zone.

Kicker

Cairo Santos, KC vs PIT ($4,600) – All of the kickers are pretty close in price this week and the only reason to go with Santos is that he should be a contrarian play. He's been accurate at home this season in missing only one field goal, and with two weeks to prepare under Andy Reid, the Chiefs should be able to move the ball well.

Defense

Kansas City Chiefs vs Pittsburgh ($4,800) – It doesn't sound like a smart play to fade the Steelers' defense, but there are a few reasons to like the Chiefs. First, Arrowhead is a great home stadium to play in during the playoffs. Kansas City also has Tyreek Hill returning kicks, and he's a threat to take it to the house every time. In 11 games this season, the Chiefs defense/special teams put up league-best double-digit fantasy-point efforts, as well.
