2025 Fantasy Outlook
Pickett was the first signal calller the QB-needy Browns added during the offseason. That Cleveland traded an asset for him fueled speculation that the 2022 first-rounder could be the team's top quarterback this year. Much has changed since early March, however. The Browns signed Joe Flacco, who has experience with the coaching staff, and drafted two quarterbacks (Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders). Flacco looked like the best option during OTAs, and his experience is expected to give him the edge out of the gate this preseason. Pickett thus could reprise the backup role he had with the Eagles in 2024 and given that Cleveland declined to pick up his fifth-year option, he could be one-and-done in his new locale. Getting plenty of reps
Pickett has been the first quarterback in the warmup line and most drills during mandatory minicamp, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Pickett is getting the opportunity for a lot of reps due to a combination of his seniority and the lack of need for Joe Flacco to get reps as a seasoned veteran. Jackson described Pickett's performance as "unremarkable" and also said that the order in which the Browns' quarterbacks take reps has little meaning at this point in the offseason.

Pickett never regained the starting job last season after injuring his right ankle in Week 13. The Steelers then pulled the plug for good on the 20th overall pick in the 2022 draft, trading him to Philadelphia in March. In 25 games (24 starts) for the Steelers, Pickett was bottom 10 in most passing stats, including ranking 42nd among 44 qualified QBs with a 6.3 YPA. He finished with 13 TDs and 13 INTs. In Philadelphia he’ll have a lot more help than he ever had in Western Pennsylvania, with wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, tight end Dallas Goedert and now RB Saquon Barkley providing more than enough firepower. And if starter Jalen Hurts goes down, the 6-3, 220-pound Pickett might benefit from the Tush Push as well -- he ran for 237 yards and three scores his rookie year but then dropped to 54 yards and one TD last season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Still has chance at starting job
Pickett will get a chance to overtake Joe Flacco and win the Browns' starting quarterback job in training camp, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Flacco already has experience in coach Kevin Stefanski's scheme, making him the favorite to be the Week 1 starter heading into camp, but Pickett is still firmly in the picture after backing up Jalen Hurts for the Super Bowl-champion Eagles last season. The duo isn't likely to face much of a challenge from rookie Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel, both of whom are viewed as developmental projects.
