Epenesa tallied 39 total tackles (23 solo) including 6.0 sacks while adding two passes defended and two forced fumbles across 17 regular-season games in 2024.
ANALYSIS
Epenesa served as a regular starter on the Bills' defense for the first time in his five-year NFL career. He played a career-high 583 defensive snaps and set a new career high in tackles. However, Epenesa's increased playing time didn't translate into more sacks, as he finished with 0.5 fewer sacks than he managed in either 2022 or 2023. He's expected to return to Buffalo in 2025 after signing a two-year, $12 million extension with the team last offseason.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Over the course of 15 regular-season games in 2024, Epenesa recorded 20 tackles and 6.5 sacks, while also intercepting two passes and forcing a fumble. Ahead of Week 1, the 2020 second-rounder is projected to play a key edge role in the Bills' base defense, while continuing to provide the team with a pass-rushing presence.
Epenesa hasn't had a ton of production for the Bills during his three seasons in Buffalo, but he surged for 6.5 sacks in 2022. We're talking about a guy here who totaled 14, 14, and 16 tackles over the past three years yet you cannot deny the spike in sacks last year. Maybe he's figured something out and he'll continue as a 'sack artist'? Maybe it was luck? It'll be interesting to see if he can build on that success this season.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
No contract talks with Buffalo
DEBuffalo Bills
February 5, 2024
Epenesa is open to returning to the Bills in free agency but hasn't yet had any discussions with the team about a contract extension, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
A second-round pick in 2020, Epenesa has emerged as a solid part of Buffalo's pass-rush rotation the last couple seasons, recording 6.5 sacks in each of 2022 and 2023. The 25-year-old also racked up a career-high eight passes defended last season as he became adept at batting down balls at the line. The Bills would probably love to re-sign Epenesa, but the team is facing a serious salary cap crunch. Given his pedigree and still-improving skill set, he could get priced out of the team's range in free agency.
