Tournament Preview

The European Tour heads to the island nation of Mauritius of the east coach of Madagascar this week for the Mauritius Open. The tournament returns to Heritage Golf Club, where it was last held in 2017. The coastal, resort course is exposed and undulating. Wind will be the primary defense. Heritage is quite open with water and sand throughout. I will target golfers who are long off the tee and good around the green. Recent form will also be highly considered.

Zander Lombard - $10,000 (20/1)

I am going right back to Lombard this week, even with the price hike from last week. He finished T7 last week at Leopard Creek, slipping back on Sunday. His form has been great, and he has a game that appears to be ideal for Heritage. He is long way off the tee and superb around greens. Once again, we will just need strong putting from him.

Renato Paratore - $8,700 (40/1)

Paratore finished T19 last week in South Africa, shooting a 69 on Sunday. That was the highest finish in his streak of five made cuts. He averages more than 301 yards off the tee and is 34th on tour in SG: around the green. The Italian is poised for a great week if his putter heats up.

Johannes Veerman - $8,300 (50/1)

Veerman was T50 at Heritage GC in 2017. That was one of two cuts made all season that year. The other one was on a coastal resort course as well. He arrives in Mauritius following a T7 in South Africa last week. He is ranked 16th on tour in SG: around the greens and 66th in SG: putting. He averages more than 300 yards off the tee.

Clement Sordet - $6,900 (80/1)

Sordet at 80/1 appears to be a bargain at only $6,900. His price will open up more options at the top tier. He enters this week following a T24 in South Africa. Sordet has shown that he can compete in this tournament. He was T11 last year and T50 in 2017. He is ranked 16th on tour in driving distance and 28th in SG: around the green.
