Calgary Flames
at Carolina Hurricanes
The Flames (9-14-3) and the Hurricanes (15-7-2) meet at Lenovo Center in Raleigh on Saturday, with a puck drop at 5:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Calgary has managed a 5-10-1 record on the road, while Carolina has posted a 7-3-1 mark on home ice.
The Hurricanes swept last season's series, winning 2-1 in overtime on March 2 in Raleigh. The Under cashed in both meetings, and the total has gone low in five of the past six meetings, and eight of the previous 10 installments in the series. Carolina is 8-2 in that span as well, and the Hurricanes have won five straight meetings on home ice since the Flames last won in Raleigh on Feb. 3, 2019.
Carolina picked up a 5-1 win over the Jets at home Friday night, an impressive victory, albeit one against Winnipeg's backup goaltender, who is actually the organization's third-string option with Connor Hellebuyck injured. Still, it was a strong win nonetheless, and Seth Jarvis notched a hat trick, with Shayne Gostisbehere posting a pair of assists. William Carrier also dished out four hits, while Gostisbehere blocked two shots.
Brandon Bussi stopped 12 of the 13 shots he faced in the win over the Jets, and he improved to 6-1-0 with a 2.43 GAA and .898 SV%. It isn't confirmed, but with the solid performance, and little usage Friday, it's hard to imagine coach Rod Brind'Amour going away from the rookie.
The Flames picked up a 5-3 win over the Panthers on Friday with Devin Cooley (3-2-1, 2.00 GAA, .930 SV%) in between the pipes. He is likely to get the nod again Sunday, as he looks to stay hot.
Calgary has cashed the Over in three straight games, and six of the past seven matchups. However, the Under has been the dominant trend in this series, so it's hard to ignore that. The Under is 2-0-1 in the past three for Carolina as well.
Let's back the Flames catching the goal and a half on the road, as backing the Hurricanes straight up is too expensive, costing nearly 2.5 times your return. We'll also side with the Under based on the series trends, and a halfway decent tendy matchup.

Ottawa Senators
at Dallas Stars
The Senators (12-8-4) head to the Metroplex to tangle with the Stars (16-5-4) at American Airlines Center at 6:00 p.m. ET.
Ottawa has managed a respectable 6-5-2 mark on the road this season, while Dallas is 7-4-1 in 12 games on home ice. The Sens have dropped three of the past six matchups, with the Under going 4-2 in that six-game span.
Dallas has won three in a row, outscoring the opposition 15-8, with the Over 2-1 in that span. The Over is also 4-2 in the past six games on home ice. However, the Under is 4-2 in the past six games overall.
This is the second and final meeting of the season. Dallas picked up a 3-2 victory in overtime on Nov. 11 as slight underdogs (+110) as the Under (5.5) cashed. Things started fine for the Sens, as Drake Batherson and Nick Jensen posted even-strength goals in the first nine minutes. Mikko Rantanen accounted for the only goal in the second period, slicing the lead to 2-1 with a helper to Jason Robertson.
Robertson posted a power-play goal at 8:00 of the second period, with helpers to Rantanen and Miro Heiskanen to force overtime. In the extra session, Roope Hintz scored the winner, with helpers to Robertson and Heiskanen. That made a winner of Jake Oettinger, who kicked aside 27 of the 29 shots he faced, while Linus Ullmark allowed three goals on 33 shots in the overtime loss.
Oettinger (10-4-2, 2.86 GAA and .898 SV%, 1 SO) is expected to face Ullmark (9-5-4, 2.94 GAA, .881 SV%) in the rematch.
We'll back the Stars straight up, as it's surprising that they're not favored by a little more. We'll also go Over, as long as you get a total of 5.5.
