NHL Sunday Night: Top Betting Picks and Parlay Insights

Dallas Stars at Nashville Predators

The Stars (4-3-1) meet the Predators (4-3-2) at Bridgestone Arena, with a puck drop of 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

Dallas was in action Saturday night at home, as Jake Oettinger and the Stars pushed past the Hurricanes 3-2. After falling behind 2-0, Miro Heiskanen picked up his first goal of the season just 64 seconds into the second period to slice the lead to 2-1. Esa Lindell picked up his third assist on that goal. Sam Steel netted a power-play goal, also his first goal of the season, with Thomas Harley and Mikko Rantanen each notching their sixth assists of the season.

In the third period, Heiskanen notched a power-play goal, with Wyatt Johnston and Rantanen chipping in with apples on the game-winning tally.

The Predators were also in action Saturday, outlasting the Kings 5-4 in a nine-round shootout. Ryan O'Reilly picked up two goals and an assist with a plus-3 rating in the victory. Ozzy Wiesblatt snapped a wrist shot past the goalie in Round 9 of the shootout to secure the win for Juuse Saros.

We're expected to have a battle of backup netminders Sunday, with both teams playing on no rest. That means a matchup of Casey DeSmith (0-1-0, 5.08 GAA, .808 SV%) against Justus Annunen (0-1-0, 5.00 GAA, .808 SV%), and likely an Over result. We'll also side with Dallas to get the job done in a high-scoring affair, as the Predators went deep into the night Saturday for the win.

New York Rangers at Calgary Flames

The Rangers (3-4-2) and the Flames (1-7-1) meet at Scotiabank Saddledome at 8:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

New York suffered a 6-5 overtime loss at home to the Sharks on Thursday, and the team is now just 1-3-2 in the past six games, while the Under is 4-2 in that span.

While the Blueshirts have been struggling, that's nothing compared to the Flames, who are in a deep nosedive. Since a 4-3 shootout win in Edmonton on Oct. 8, the Flames have gone 0-7-1 in the past eight games, picking up just one out of a possible 16 points. They're struggling to light the lamp, going for 12 goals during their eight-game skid, or 1.5 goals per game (GPG).

Calgary suffered a 5-3 loss Friday in Winnipeg, and that was actually their second-best offensive total of the season.

We'll back the Rangers to get the job done as they kick off a four-game trip to Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. We'll also lean low, as both teams have struggled to score early in the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Flames ML (-130 at ESPN Bet Sportsbook)
  • Under 5.5 Goals (+105 at Caesars Sportsbook)

Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks

The Oilers (4-4-1) and the Canucks (4-5-0) meet at Rogers Place at 10:00 p.m. ET, and that game can also been seen on ESPN+.

Edmonton has won five of the past six meetings since May 18, 2024, when the Oilers won Games 6 and 7 of a playoff series. Last season, Edmonton won three of four matchups in the regular season, with the home team going 3-1.

Edmonton is coming off a 3-2 loss at Seattle on Saturday night, and the team now faces the quick turnaround Sunday night. Evan Bouchard scored a power-play goal, while Darnell Nurse had an even-strength goal, but it wasn't enough to get Stuart Skinner the victory.

Calvin Pickard (2-1-0, 3.35 GAA, .844 SV%) is expected to go with no rest, while Thatcher Demko (3-2-0, 2.24 GAA, .927 SV%) is expected to get the start for the home side.

Edmonton has posted a 2-4-0 record in the past six games while allowing at least four goals in four of the matchups.

The Canucks have dropped three in a row, totaling just five goals in the nosedive. They've allowed 3.7 GPG, while splitting the Over-Under 2-2-1 in the past five games.

Let's roll with the Oilers to bounce back, as there is something about seeing those Canucks sweaters which just sets off Edmonton. We'll also lean Under, but only if you can still get 6.5 on DraftKings.
