Race Preview
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is making its second appearance on dirt this week at Knoxville Raceway. The track is known for its sprint car racing, but this will be the first time NASCAR's Trucks have taken to the circuit. The race weekend, like Bristol earlier this season, will include qualifying heats before the main event gets underway Friday night. The main race will be 150 laps divided into three stages. Teams will be able to add fuel, change tires and make handling adjustments at each stage break with the running order frozen. There will be no ability to change tires or add fuel at any point other than those breaks, and the "choose rule" will not be in effect. Knoxville is the first of just two races remaining in the regular season for the Trucks before Watkins Glen will finalize the playoff field.

Martin Truex Jr. dominated the last dirt race held earlier this year at Bristol, leading 105 of 150 total laps. He won't be in this week's race, but it will be a full field of 40 machines. Sheldon Creed led the second-most laps in that race at 38, but only managed a finish of 16th. The circuit is a half-mile oval with eight degrees of banking in the turns. The width varies between 60 and 80 feet, and it is covered in Iowa's black soil. It was originally a horse-racing track and dates back to the 1800s. Like Bristol, teams will need to navigate their qualifying heats to gain a top starting position for the feature race. Starting order for the feature will be determined by points from those qualifying heats given for passing points and finishing position. Fantasy players will get a chance to analyze practice times from Thursday before making final roster decisions ahead of Friday's race.

Chase Briscoe won on the dirt at Eldora in 2018 and then finished fifth at Bristol earlier this season. He was 13th in Thursday's practice, but should be expected to be a top-five contender Friday night. Sheldon Creed started the Bristol dirt race third and went on to lead 38 laps. He finished a disappointing 16th, but should finish near the top this week with a few tweaks. He was inside the top 10 in practice, too. Austin Hill was a top-10 finisher at Bristol and enters this week on a string of five consecutive top-10 finishes. He was 16th in practice and should be a top-10 contender again Friday. This week's race will be the seventh series start of the year for Brett Moffitt. He finished 24th at Bristol but was seventh in practice for Knoxville. Hailie Deegan has been proving herself in her rookie season. She finished 19th on the dirt at Bristol and was fifth fastest Thursday. She is 16th in points and has two top-15s from the last five races. Austin Wayne Self appears to be one of the bargains in this week's driver prices. He finished 10th at Bristol earlier this year and has an average finish of 17th from his 13 starts this season.
