FORWARDS

Manchester City Forwards: Here we are again with Manchester City a big favorite and everyone else lagging behind. The Man City forward stack didn't work out for a lot of people during Saturday's match against Bournemouth, as Gabriel Jesus ($9,400), who started in place of the slightly injured Sergio Aguero ($10,700), failed to get on the scoresheet, Leroy Sane ($10,500) managed only an assist while Raheem Sterling ($11,100), the most expensive starter on the slate, scored one goal on two shots. Instead, Man City got goals from Bernardo Silva ($8,800), who started in place of David Silva and the lowest-owned among the group, and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan ($7,000) in a 3-1 win. With Riyad Mahrez ($8,700) only playing three minutes against the Cherries, there is an expectation that he will start against Watford, and because he's the cheapest of the forward-eligible attackers, plus the fact he can take some set pieces, it's entirely possible he'll be the highest owned player from Manchester City. The real question, once again, is how many Manchester City pieces you need and whether you need them both to be forwards. I personally got away with just one this past weekend (it was Sane), but that really has no bearing on Tuesday's slate. That being said, I don't think you necessarily need two Mancehster City forwards, so at least there's that...maybe.

Andros Townsend, CRY at BHA ($6,400): Townsend had close to a ceiling game this past weekend against Burnley, scoring 25.75 fantasy points thanks to one goal on three shots (one on target), one assist on six chances created, five crosses, one foul drawn and one tackle won, giving him at least 9.25 fantasy points in seven of his last nine starts. His shared role on set pieces is certainly a benefit, but he remains a solid open-play crosser as well, one that has also taken multiple shots in five straight games. He'll now face a Brighton side that has conceded the most shots, most crosses and most fouls drawn on the slate, and even though they are playing away, Crystal Palace are slight favorites. Townsend isn't the only Palace forward worth considering, as Wilfried Zaha ($7,000) showed his active floor against Burnley, finishing with six shots, including three on goal, four fouls drawn and one tackle won for 13.00 fantasy points. His total lack of set pieces makes people worry about him in cash games, but Zaha continues to be a very well-rounded scorer and should get consideration in all formats.

Marko Arnautovic, WHU v. CAR ($9,100): If you don't want to play Man City goal roulette, Arnautovic could be a nice pivot, even if he has just one goal in his last six Premier League starts. He's taken at least three shots in four of his last six games (18 over that span, including nine on goal), while Aguero and Jesus, who are unlikely to both start, are the only players on the slate with better anytime goal scorer odds. Not only that, Arnautovic will face a Cardiff side that's allowed the most goals, assists, shots on goal and corners among teams on the slate. It's also possible that Chicharito ($7,200) gets another start after bagging a brace last weekend, but Arnautovic is the more reliable play. If you don't want to trust West Ham, Bournemouth's Callum Wilson ($7,900) is in a pretty good spot against Huddersfield, who have allowed the second-most goals on the slate. And if you're considering Wilson you should also think about Joshua King ($6,900), who had three goals on nine shots in three starts prior to last weekend's against Man City.

MIDFIELDERS

Ryan Fraser, BOU v. HUD ($8,500): Paying this much for Fraser likely takes you out of a Manchester City piece, with the most obvious one being David Silva, who is just $100 more. I actually thought Silva was a worthwhile play this past weekend, and then of course he didn't start, which made me cut down on my Manchester City exposure (I explained in more detail during Monday's podcast). With Man City back as big favorites, I have no problem considering Silva, who has had a role on set pieces and has also made the scoresheet in seven of his last eight starts, including each of the last five. However, if you're looking to fade Man City, Fraser has been one of the best floor players this season; in fact, no one has accounted for more of their teams floor points than Fraser, who has a somewhat tough matchup against Huddersfield, a side that has allowed the second-fewest crosses among teams on the slate. That being said, Bournemouth are still decently favored, and Fraser could have a big share of set pieces. Then again, he also may not start, and if Junior Stanislas ($6,700) gets the call instead, he could be a popular cash-game option.

Robert Snodgrass, WHU v. CAR ($7,200): While Felipe Anderson ($8,300) takes plenty of set pieces when Snodgrass isn't in the starting XI, the latter usually takes a majority of those opportunities when the two are on the pitch together. Snodgrass has sent in at least seven crosses in four of his last five games, and in the match he failed to do so, he took three shots instead. Additionally, he has drawn two fouls in four straight games, which only helps his solid floor. However, it's the shots and corners we'll target, as Cardiff have conceded the most goals, most assists, most shots on goal and most corners among teams on the slate. If Snodgrass doesn't start, Felipe is certainly a solid pivot, though if you need to stay in the price range, Huddersfield's Aaron Mooy ($6,900) could be playing in the 10 for the highest-crossing team on the slate.

Joe Ralls, CAR at WHU ($3,600): Ralls' upside is pretty limited as a central midfielder for an away underdog, but his low price helps alleviate that issue a bit. He is now sharing set pieces with Victor Camarasa ($5,000), and while Cardiff may not get lots of those opportunities, Ralls' defensive work could help him score enough fantasy points to make value while providing the appropriate salary savings for those looking to stack Manchester City attackers. Ralls isn't the only cheaper option that Man City stackers will be considering, as Crystal Palace's Max Meyer ($4,800) took half of their corners in last weekend's match, adding four shots, including one on goal, to his seven crosses, which came from five corners. The sample size is obviously small, but if Meyer is taking over Luka Milivojevic's ($5,800) set pieces, it gives the former definite value while directly taking away from the latter.

DEFENDERS

Patrick van Aanholt, CRY at BHA ($4,900): van Aanholt's attacking upside was in full view this past weekend against Burnley, as he finished that match with five shots, including one on goal, while creating four chances in the 2-0 victory. If there's one thing a bit concerning it's that he has sent in just one cross in his last five matches, a span that saw Aaron Wan-Bissaka ($5,200) send in 10 while impressively creating zero chances, though he also won nine tackles. Paying up for van Aanholt is more a play for his shots, as he'll once again face a side that leads the slate in shots conceded, while Brighton have also allowed the most crosses and chances.

Bernardo, BHA v. CRY ($4,000): The other side of that match will offer up some cheap fullbacks, including Bernardo, who had five crosses, five tackles won and six interceptions in his last two starts. The upside is quite limited with all of the Brighton defenders, but if you're looking for a cheap player at the position with some presumed attacking upside, Bernardo fits the bill.

Florent Hadergjonaj, HUD at BOU ($4,600): Hadergjonaj is almost always in consideration given how often Huddersfield fall behind and then cross as much as possible to try to get back into games. His price isn't that cheap, but with no fullbacks really worth paying up for, at least in cash games, Hadergjonaj's price makes him a bit more reasonable than Erik Durm ($5,100), who hasn't taken a shot in two games and is now four straight without more than three crosses.

GOALKEEPER

Lukasz Fabianski, WHU v. CAR ($5,500): Fabianski leads all goalkeepers on the slate with 57 saves this season, and he'll also get to face a Cardiff attack that has scored just two goals in six away matches. Paying up for a goalkeeper on this slate is likely a move to try to make up for not having one of the Manchester City attackers, and while that usually would push you to Ederson ($5,900), his upside isn't that high even if he does get a clean sheet win, as he's failed to make more than two saves in 13 of his last 14 starts. If you want to pay down, Brighton's Mathew Ryan ($4,600) is the cheapest home goalkeeper not facing Manchester City, and his match has the lowest implied goal total.
