FPL GW8: Should You Sell Salah, Joao Pedro, Grealish or Reijnders?

FPL managers head into Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 8 debating whether to sell or keep underperforming stars like Mohamed Salah, Joao Pedro and Jack Grealish. This guide breaks down the best transfer decisions for GW8's most popular players.

Check out our updated FPL rankings, FPL tips and cheat sheets to fine-tune your squad.

Joao Pedro (61.5%): Keep or Sell in FPL GW8?

Managers with Pedro in their teams are understandably frustrated as the Brazilian has failed to return in the last three gameweeks. In his last five starts across league and UCL, he's registered just two shots, both off target.

Whilst these numbers are worrying for those who have Chelsea's summer signing, I believe you should keep hold of him.

The fixtures couldn't be nicer for Chelsea as they face Ange Postecoglou's Nottingham Forest up next, who have been shipping goals and entered the international break without an identity.

Chelsea also face Sunderland, Wolves and Burnley in their next five, so the stage is set for Pedro to return to goalscoring form.

Mohamed Salah (38.8%): Time To Move On?

Salah has also had a tough time over the last three gameweeks, totaling just one assist with two shots on goal.

His underlying numbers are slightly more encouraging than Pedro's, as Salah is at least doing things in the attack. He has one big chance in each of the last three Premier League games in addition to creating one.

Still, the Egyptian has yet to hit a double-digit FPL haul this season, and he hasn't looked anything like the Salah from last season.

For this reason, I would sell Salah if you still have him and redistribute the funds to other areas of your team.

Micky van de Ven (34.0%): Defensive Drop-Off

Just a few weeks ago, van de Ven was one of the most popular defenders to buy as he rose from £4.5m to £4.8m.

Ahead of Gameweek 8, he's now the third-most sold defender as Spurs have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three Premier League games.

He provided fantastic value earlier in the season, keeping three clean sheets in the first four gameweeks, but now it seems like a good time to sell him.

The fixtures start to get worse for Spurs with Chelsea, Man United and Arsenal in the near future, so you're better off switching him to a cheap defender with more defensive contribution threat.

Tijjani Reijnders (33.0%): Still Worth Holding?

Man City's summer signing provided one of the most impressive Premier League debuts to date, as he grabbed a goal and an assist in the season opener against Wolves.

Since then, he's been slightly disappointing, managing just the one goal from six games. However, I don't think you need to rush to sell the Dutchman.

City have Everton and Aston Villa up next, neither of whom have been overly consistent at the back, and Reijnders is still good value at just £5.8m.

Jack Grealish (20.6%): Ineligible Against Parent Club

Speaking of Man City players, Grealish has had a fantastic start to his loan deal with Everton. The Englishman has a goal and four assists from just six Premier League starts this season.

Despite this, he is the second-most sold midfielder ahead of Gameweek 8, behind only Salah.

That may be due to the red flag that he's sporting on the FPL app/website since he's ineligible to play against Manchester City as part of his loan deal. If anything, that absence will give him added rest against a team he may not have done much against anyway.

Everton have some nice fixtures after GW8, so I would keep him on your bench and play a defender if you can.
