PITCHER
Jose Quintana, CWS at MIN ($10,700): Quintana boasts a 2.13 ERA over his past 10 starts with two runs or fewer allowed in eight of the outings. He has a 21.9 strikeout percentage for the season and grabs a decent matchup against the Twins, who have a middling .325 wOBA and 102 wRC+ against lefties this season and have lost 13 consecutive games.
Mike Montgomery, CHC vs. SF ($4,000): Stretched out enough to pitch himself into a position to grab the win, Montgomery has fanned 10 batters through 9.1 innings over his past two starts. His salary opens endless lineup possibilities, too. San Francisco has an underwhelming .317 wOBA and 100 wRC+ against southpaws for the season and has scored the fourth-fewest runs since the All-Star break.
CATCHER
Alex Avila CWS at MIN ($2,900): With two home runs through three games since returning from the disabled list and a basement salary, Avila is a value flier. He also boasts a respectable .325 wOBA against right-handed pitchers for the season.
FIRST BASE
Anthony Rizzo, CHC vs. SF ($5,100): Picking on Jeff Samardzija is a sound strategy, as he has allowed a .498 slugging percentage and .348 wOBA to lefty bats over the past two seasons. Rizzo has a .394 wOBA and 150 wRC+ against right-handed arms during the same timeframe.
SECOND BASE
Ben Zobrist, CHC vs. SF ($4,300): Despite cooling in the second half (.332 wOBA), Zobrist remains in the heart of a potent lineup and lands in a plus-matchup Thursday. For the year, Zobrist has a .353 wOBA against righty arms.
THIRD BASE
Kris Bryant, CHC vs. SF ($5,500): A Cubs stack without Bryant doesn't fly. He's scorching hot with a .538 ISO and .610 wOBA over the past two weeks, and the sophomore boasts a career .424 wOBA and 171 wRC+ at home against right-handed pitchers.
SHORTSTOP
Jose Reyes, NYM vs. MIA ($4,400): Coming off a strong month (.365 wOBA), Reyes is a nice option against Jose Urena, who has served up a .366 wOBA to left-handed hitters during his brief career.
OUTFIELD
Yoenis Cespedes, NYM vs. MIA ($5,000): After a beastly August (.446 wOBA) and with a .380 wOBA and 143 wRC+ against right-handed pitchers over the past two seasons, don't fret the lack of traditional handedness advantage against Jose Urena. Plus, Urena has allowed a 32.5 hard-hit percentage to right-handed hitters this season.
Adam Eaton, CWS at MIN ($3,600): Hot of late with a .346 wOBA over the past 30 days, Eaton is a solid value Thursday. His .354 wOBA against right-handed pitchers over the past two seasons also highlights his track record against righties.
Jason Heyward, CHC vs. SF ($3,000): Since being benched, Heyward has a .363 wOBA with four runs, four extra-base hits and five RBI. At his salary, and as a piece of a Chicago stack, Heyward is a high-end source of cap relief Thursday.
