FanDuel MLB: Monday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

Pitcher

Carlos Rodon, CHW vs MN ($7,700) – Rodon isn't the most stable pitcher, but his upside is pretty high and he's facing a team that's without its best hitter. Rodon has posted quality starts in his past four outings and he's recorded 28 strikeouts in that time. The Twins are 20th in wOBA against lefties this season.

Catcher

Yasmani Grandal, LAD at PIT ($3,400) – There aren't many appealing catchers on this slate, so my first inclination is to go cheap here, but if you are willing to spend up, Grandal could be your guy. The matchup against Gerrit Cole isn't great, but it isn't terrible either as Cole has been inconsistent this season. Grandal has been much better against righties than lefties, which makes him an interesting selection.

First Base

Paul Goldschmidt, AZ at NYM ($4,000)Robert Gsellman is likely the worst starter on this slate, which means the Diamondbacks are in play for stack. Goldy's .430 wOBA against righties is fifth best in the majors, so he's set up well to produce Monday.

Second Base

Jonathan Schoop, BAL vs OAK ($3,300) – With a small slate, there aren't many pitchers to target, but Oakland's Chris Smith is a good target. Smith enters with a 5.26 ERA and he's allowed 16 runs in his last 20.1 innings. The Orioles are better as a team against lefties, but Schoop enters with a .360 wOBA against right-handers, which is second on the O's.

Shortstop

Jean Segura, SEA at ATL ($3,500) – Foltynewicz has allowed 14 runs in his last six innings (two starts). Segura has been pretty solid against lefties this season and sits atop an order that's bound to score plenty of runs.

Third Base

Jake Lamb, AZ at NYM ($3,500) – With the Diamondbacks on the road, we get a break on their salaries and as such, it will be much easier to fit them into a stack. Lamb is option 1B behind Goldschmidt, at least against righties given his wOBA of .404. Gsellman enters with a 5.98 ERA and he's allowed 19 runs in his last 17.2 innings.

Outfield

Trey Mancini, BAL vs OAK ($2,900) – Mancini enters with a .384 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the Orioles. The Orioles are certainly a team to consider for stacking given their matchup against Smith and that their alaries are fairly low.

Khris Davis, OAK at BAL ($3,600) – Remember the days when Ubaldo Jimenez was reliably bad? Unfortunately for us, he's actually pitched rather well for the last month. His most recent start, however, featured six runs in 4.1 innings at Seattle. I'm not ready to say the old Jimenez is back and as such, no stacks will be recommended, but Davis is certainly in play as he leads the A's with a .365 wOBA against righties.

Austin Jackson, CLE vs BOS ($3,100) – Jackson's current role is to hit lefties and he's done a great job of that all season. Jackson enters with a .441 wOBA against southpaws, which is top-15 in the majors. Eduardo Rodriguez takes the hill for the Red Sox, and he's been anything but elite this season with a 3.97 ERA.
