Tuesday offers us a full slate in the majors, and as usual, we have our three best player props for tonight. This time, we'll back a veteran pitcher against a struggling lineup, though we're also projecting a starter to have a tough time in a matchup that could see another chapter in the playoffs. Last but not least, we're backing up one of the most accomplished hitters of the last 10 years to go yard against the worst team in MLB.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today
Phillies vs. Mets: Sean Manaea under 16.5 outs recorded, -120 @ BetMGM
The series between the Mets and Phillies has a clear playoff atmosphere, but that shouldn't come as a surprise given how both teams have performed throughout the season. It's uncertain if Manaea will feel comfortable in that environment, though. The veteran right-hander made his Mets debut on July 13 but has struggled for the most part, posting a 5.15 ERA across eight appearances (seven starts) and 36.2 innings. What's even more concerning is that his ERA in four August starts is a massive 7.91, a huge jump compared to the 2.08 ERA he posted in four appearances in July. Given that Manaea hasn't recorded more than 15 outs in any of his previous starts, and that the Phillies boast one of the best offenses in the NL, expect Manaea to struggle once again in this marquee matchup.

Rockies vs. Astros: Jose Altuve over 0.5 home runs, +420 @ bet365
Altuve will be facing Tanner Gordon for the first time in his career, but the star infielder is showing off the power in a way that makes him a threat to take any pitcher deep. One of the best hitters in the majors over the last decade-plus, Altuve leads the Astros in the power department this season with 22 homers and also owns a .795 OPS through 127 games and 489 at-bats. The return of Yordan Alvarez to the lineup should provide more protection for Altuve, and the fact that the Rockies are the worst team in the MLB by a wide margin should also boost Altuve's chances of going yard. With 12 homers and a .498 slugging percentage at home, plus facing a pitcher who owns a 7.11 ERA across nine starts in 2025, Altuve could be a solid bet for production Tuesday.

Cubs vs. Giants: Matthew Boyd over 4.5 strikeouts, -143 @ bet365
San Francisco ranks last in OPS (.616) against left-handed pitching this season, and it wouldn't be surprising if they struggle against Boyd, who's having an outstanding year with the Cubs and was an All-Star earlier this year. As if that wasn't enough, the current Giants are a collective 9-for-49 with a .522 OPS against the lefty, who also owns a strong 2.14 ERA over his previous 12 starts. Even though Boyd isn't a pitcher who could be classified as a flamethrower, he's struck out five or more in two of his four starts this month, and in six of his nine appearances since the beginning of July. Couple that with the Giants' struggles against left-handed pitching, and Boyd could be a solid bet to surpass this line.
