Closer Watch

Red Sox -- You're cruising along, and then bam – Koji Uehara's out for the season with a fractured wrist. John Farrell's said that Jean Machi will be the closer, but I still think the smart money's on Junichi Tazawa. Tazawa's struggled a bit recently and the Sox are looking to limit his workload, but he's a better pitcher than Machi, who was designated for assignment by the Giants earlier this year.

Jose Peraza, 2B, LAD – With Howie Kendrick DL-bound, Peraza's suddenly got himself a starting job near the top of a solid lineup, as he made his MLB debut in the two-hole Monday night, going 1-for-4 with a walk. The 21-year-old, part of the Braves' big deadline deal, has hit a composite .302/.327/.398 with 27 steals between his two Triple-A stops, and he could help fantasy owners who need to load up on hits, steals and runs down the stretch. Of course, when Kendrick returns, Peraza will be out of a job again.
