Fantasy NBA: Fantasy5 Introduction

Fantasy NBA: Fantasy5 Introduction

Fantasy5 is a new, free-to-play fantasy sports prediction game that offers a unique format and the chance to win $5,000 each round. Below is a breakdown of the new platform and some strategic approaches to consider while playing this new game during the NBA playoffs.

Fantasy 5 Format

The format for this game is to pick five players from five different games. If they all score more than their fantasy points target, then you win the jackpot. The scoring format for fantasy points are:

Leaderboard Rules

If you don't pick all five players correctly to surpass their fantasy points target, that doesn't mean you're not a winner. Each time one of your players surpasses their points target, it is counted as a correct prediction. The users with the most predictions can win weekly, monthly or yearly prizes via the leaderboard.

Prizes

Each round you have a free chance to win $5000 if you correctly predict five players to beat their fantasy points line. If there is no jackpot winner, Fantasy5 still offers a prize to whoever tops the leaderboard for the round

At the end of each week/month, a prize will be awarded to the user who is at the top of that week's/month's leaderboard. Prior to that week/month starting, Fantasy5 will communicate via their website, twitter or e-mail what that prize will be.

At the end of each NBA season playoffs, a prize will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams on the annual leaderboard.

Selecting Players

Select "Get Started" to enter the contest. You will be prompted to a screen that lists the players from each game and their respective fantasy points targets.

After you select one player from the first game, you will be automatically prompted to select a player from the second game. That will continue until you have selected one player from each of the five games to surpass their fantasy points target.

Strategy

Unlike salary cap games, you can pick any player in Fantasy5, as long as you pick one each from five separate games. If you think Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James and Kevin Durant will all have big performances in separate games from each other, then you can select each of them to surpass their fantasy points targets.

With that being said, sometimes the players with the best chance of surpassing their projected fantasy points target are players that might not be as well-known. For example, in the options above, big-name players like Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton have hefty fantasy points targets. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has a much more manageable number to hit, especially when you consider his starting role and the fact that he has shot at least 38.5 percent from behind the arc in back-to-back seasons.

Enjoy

You've selected your five players to surpass their fantasy points target, so now you can sit back, watch the games and track your players. Didn't get all five selections correct? Track your progress on the leaderboard to see if you might be eligible for one of the weekly, monthly or annual prizes.
