India Women lambasted the White Ferns by nine wickets in the opening One Day International of the tour and seem well set to enhance their status in the fifty-over format. A talented side with quite a few gun players, the Indian women were quick to put behind their off-field issues and bring out their best performance against the White Ferns. They will hope to do as well when the teams meet again on Tuesday.

Conditions: Sluggish wicket with help for seamer's and spinners. Lower totals expected.

Player Recommendations:

Wicket-keeper: Taniya Bhatia (8 credits)

Bhatia didn't get to bat in the first ODI but effected two stumpings and took a catch to underline her value. She is a fierce striker of the ball and a good player on sluggish wickets which yet again makes her a valuable pick for Tuesday. The wicket-keeper batswoman is known for her cameos and one of them could surface sooner rather than later.

Batsman: Smriti Mandana (10 credits)

A hundred in the first ODI got Mandana going and the Indian opener, who knows to make her form count, will be banking on her pristine driving and self-confidence to drive the Kiwis into the ground. The White Ferns had no answers to her bullishness in the first game and she could be in line to torment them again.

All-rounder: Sophie Devine (10 credits)

Devine was one of the few to get a start on Thursday but she will hope to convert it to something more substantial. On

All-rounder: Sophie Devine (10 credits)

Devine was one of the few to get a start on Thursday but she will hope to convert it to something more substantial. On a wicket where the ball stops on the batswoman, Devine's dibbly-dobbly pacers would be quite handy. Expect her to give the Indians a hard time on the Bay Oval wicket.

Bowler: Poonam Yadav (9 credits)

The leg-spinner will be a ravishing prospect on the wicket given that her low trajectory and sharp turn will be hard to negotiate. Poonam is in form after a three-wicket haul in the last game and the Bay Oval surface should aid her kind of bowling more. The White Ferns will have a hard time playing her on Tuesday.

Captain: Poonam Yadav

Vice-captain: Smriti Mandana

Predicted Playing XI:

New Zealand Women: Amy Satterthwaite (c), Suzie Bates, Bernadine Bezuidenhout (wk), Sophie Devine, Maddy Green, Holly Huddleston, Leigh Kasperek, Amelia Kerr, Katie Perkins, Anna Peterson, Lea Tahuhu

India Women: Mithali Raj (c), Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodriguez, Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Dayalan Hemalatha, Taniya Bhatia, Shikha Pandey, Jhulan Goswami, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Yadav
