FanDuel Fantasy Football: Week 10 Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel Fantasy Football series.

Quarterback

Jay Cutler, CHI at TB ($7,000) – Cutler heads to Tampa Bay this weekend to take on the Bucs as the 20th-priced quarterback. The price here isn't the only consideration that makes Cutler attractive, as the matchup is also fantastic. On the season, the Tampa defense is giving up the fourth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and they've been especially bad lately. Despite being home the last two games, the Buccaneers have given up 857 passing yards and eight passing touchdowns leading to 27 and 35 fantasy point games for Derek Carr and Matt Ryan. While Cutler may not have the talent or setup of those two, he only needs to break 20 fantasy points here to make his value.

Russell Wilson, SEA at NE ($7,400) – This game appears to be one to target this week as two explosive offenses meet up in Foxboro. Wilson looked the healthiest he's been in a while Monday night and Doug Baldwin and Jimmy Graham lead a stellar receiving group. Pete Carroll said Wednesday that C.J. Prosise ($4,700) will be playing a big role in this game suggesting the former wide receiver will be catching many passes out of the backfield. With one of the highest over/under totals of the week and the Seattle defense missing a couple of key players on the road, look for this to be a high-scoring affair.

Running Back

Darren Sproles, PHI vs ATL ($5,100) – Sproles is shaping up to be

Running Back

Darren Sproles, PHI vs ATL ($5,100) – Sproles is shaping up to be the top punt play this week considering his price and his role as the starter. He's had 16 and 20 touches the last two weeks, although he hasn't found the end zone. Sproles is still one of the best receiving backs in the league and has a 21.7 fantasy-point game this season, showing his upside. Atlanta continues to play in high-scoring affairs which works in Sproles' favor if the Eagles get down and need to throw to keep pace.

Chris Ivory, JAC vs HOU ($5,200) – A new offensive coordinator translated into Ivory's biggest workload of the season as he ran the ball 18 times for 107 yards against the Chiefs. His 9.2 fantasy-point performance last week would have been six points greater had he not fumbled trying to stretch the ball out at the goal line. The matchup against Houston (no J.J. Watt) is also attractive as they've given up the ninth most fantasy points to opposing running backs on the season.

Wide Receiver

Sammie Coates, PIT vs DAL ($5,400) – For whatever reason, Ben Roethlisberger has played much better at home than on the road this season. Here are his fantasy point totals:

Road: 19.86, 11.56, 7.98 and 22.8

Home: 29.2, 33.9 and 21.76

This weekend, the Steelers welcome the Cowboys who will be without Morris Claiborne and Barry Church. That'll mean softer coverage in the secondary for Ben and Coates to take advantage of. Before hurting his hand, Coates had a run of at least double-digit fantasy points in three of four games one of which being a 28.9-point effort. He's best used as a GPP option this week given his boom-or-bust nature.

J.J. Nelson ARI vs SF ($5,600) – A great strategy in DFS is to take the teammate of a player expected to do well and go with them in something of a contrarian move. Everyone is expecting big things out of David Johnson against a terrible 49ers defense but Nelson is a cheap way to get a piece of the Cardinals offense. He's taken over the No.2 role opposite of Larry Fitzgerald and because of the bye week, many have forgotten what he's done over the last two games. During that brief span, Nelson had 19 targets that he turned into 11 catches for 163 yards and two scores. While San Francisco gives up the most fantasy points to opposing running backs, they aren't much better against wide receivers, surrendering the fifth most in the league.

Tight End

Zach Ertz, PHI vs ATL ($4,600) – This price ($100 over the minimum) is a steal for a guy considered a top-10 tight end this week that appeared to finally have his breakout game a week ago. Ertz finished with 8 catches for 97 yards (13.7 fantasy points) against the Giants which was easily his best game of the season. There could finally be some chemistry between Carson Wentz and Ertz that they'll need this weekend taking on the Falcons. Furthermore, the Falcons are giving up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season.

Kicker

Wil Lutz, NO vs DEN ($4,600) – Despite some strong showings recently, Lutz's low price tag continues to make him a bargain. He'll be kicking at home where weather won't play a factor and the matchup with Denver isn't one to be overly concerned with. The Broncos gave up 30 on the road a week ago to a less talented offense and if they "bend but don't break", that could lead to a lot of field-goal attempts. Lutz comes into this game with fantasy scores of 12, 13 and 16 points in three of his last four.

Defense

New York Jets vs LA ($4,800) – This seems like a crazy call considering the Jets have only scored double-digit points on defense once this season. However, they get the Rams who are traveling across the country and have a banged up running back. On top of the offensive line and Todd Gurley (thigh) struggling, they'll have to face a defense that ranks fourth against the run. This means the Rams will likely rely on Case Keenum to air it out which bodes well for New York, as Keenum has eight interceptions over his last four games.
