Yahoo DFS Football: Championship Round Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Football series.

The final Yahoo! NFL DFS slate of the season consists of Sunday's AFC Championship game between the Titans and Chiefs at 3:05 PM Eastern time followed by the NFC Championship featuring the Packers and 49ers. With just two games to pick from, this week's recommendations will be consolidated into one section rather than split between tournaments and cash games. Among the players who stand out on this slate are a quarterback-tight end combo that looked unstoppable last week and a running back committee member who appears to have reclaimed the top spot.

QUARTERBACK

Patrick Mahomes, KC vs. TEN ($39): After falling into an early hole in the divisional round, Mahomes looked unstoppable in last week's 51-31 win over the Texans, leading the Chiefs to 41 unanswered points and finishing with 321 passing yards, five touchdowns and 53 rushing yards. The superstar quarterback should be worth paying up for against a Titans defense that ranked among the 10 most vulnerable to the pass during the regular season, allowing 255.0 passing yards per game.

RUNNING BACK

Derrick Henry, TEN at KC ($41): Henry is the Titans' offense, as quarterback Ryan Tannehill has passed for just 160 yards combined in Tennessee's two playoff wins while Henry has rumbled for 377 rushing yards and a touchdown on 64 carries. Throw in Henry's 211-yard, three-touchdown effort in Week 17, and he's the first player in NFL history to top 180 yards on the ground in three consecutive games -- a feat made all the more impressive by two of the three being playoff contests. A Chiefs defense that allowed the seventh-most rushing yards in the regular season (128.2) had no answer for Henry in Tennessee's Nov. 10 win, as he rumbled for 188 yards and two touchdowns in that one.

Tevin Coleman, SF vs. GB ($19): After Raheem Mostert appeared to take over as San Francisco's top backfield option down the stretch in the regular season, Coleman re-emerged as that guy in the divisional round, rushing 22 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns while Mostert battled a calf cramp and carried the ball only 12 times. San Francisco's depth at the running back position lowers Coleman's floor, but his high ceiling and affordable valuation are ideal for GPP formats.

WIDE RECEIVER

Davante Adams, GB vs. SEA ($29): Adams was Green Bay's go-to option in the passing game as expected last week, finishing with eight catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns. With seven touchdowns in his last seven games, Aaron Rodgers' favorite target should be worth paying up for as the highest-priced receiver on this slate.

A.J. Brown, TEN at KC ($16): Brown has been a non-factor this postseason with just two catches on four targets, as Tennessee has managed to get its nose in front and then run the ball in both games. Should the game script flip to a more pass-heavy situation in which the Titans trail the favored Chiefs, the rookie wide receiver would likely become much more involved, making Brown worth a flier at just $16. He's more than capable of stepping up when called upon, as he recorded 114 or more receiving yards in four of the final six regular-season games while scoring five touchdowns over that stretch.

Deebo Samuel, SF vs. GB ($17): Samuel's 48 scrimmage yards last week were nothing special, but it's worth noting that he led the 49ers with six targets while also being entrusted with a rushing attempt. The physical rookie can turn innocent-looking plays into big gains with his ability to power through defenders, and the ball should end up in his hands often in the 49ers' balanced attack.

TIGHT END

Travis Kelce, KC vs. TEN ($28): Kelce's ostensibly a bit banged up, but he looked more than fine in the divisional round en route to 10 catches for 134 yards and three touchdowns. The tight end is nearly impossible to cover one-on-one, but Kansas City's ability to blow the top off the defense with speedy wide receivers and Mahomes' cannon of an arm should continue to leave Kelce in single coverage often. His monstrous upside is well worth his lofty valuation.

DEFENSE

San Francisco 49ers, SF vs. GB ($18): San Francisco's defense is the most expensive for a reason, as the team's relentless pass rush and talent in every position group gives them both a high floor and a high ceiling against a Packers offense led by Rodgers, who has looked like he's lost a step for much of the season. The 49ers and Titans defenses both put up 14.0 fantasy points last week, but San Francisco certainly has the much less daunting matchup here between those two locked-in units.

Honorable Mentions

QB: Jimmy Garoppolo (SF, $26)

WR: Sammy Watkins (KC, $13), Emmanuel Sanders (SF, $17)

TE: Jimmy Graham (GB, $12)
