Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Shepard enjoyed a modest career renaissance in Tampa Bay in 2024 after a pair of forgettable final seasons with the Giants, posting a 32-334-1 line over 14 regular-season games while working with college teammate Baker Mayfield as his quarterback. The veteran wideout helped make up for Chris Godwin's injury-shortened season and even put together two 50-yard-plus performances, but it remains to be seen if there will be a spot for him on an appreciably deeper 2025 wide receiver depth chart. RANKS
Three grabs to open season
Shepard brought in three of six targets for 39 yards in the Buccaneers' 23-20 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
The veteran receiver flashed his chemistry with college teammate Baker Mayfield on a few occasions, and Shepard actually finished second on the Bucs in targets for the afternoon. Shepard's final catch was the most important, as he made a clutch 10-yard grab on third-and-9 during what would turn out to be the game-winning drive. Given the short-handed nature of Tampa Bay's receiving corps for the moment, Shepard has some appeal in deep formats as the current No. 3 receiver -- he logged 37 snaps to Tez Johnson's eight Sunday -- in an offense helmed by a quarterback with whom he has long-established rapport.

Shepard recovered from a torn Achilles suffered during the 2021 season in time to play in Week 1 last year, but his campaign ended with another devastating injury when he tore his ACL in Week 3. The Giants liked his production enough, when healthy, to re-sign him during the offseason, but the "when healthy" qualification looms large because the wideout has played in more than 12 games just once since he was a rookie in 2016. There's no guarantee that Shepard will be ready to go by the opener of the coming season, and even if he is, his role is uncertain. New York is loaded with slot receivers and may prefer to give youngsters Wan'Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt more run than the 30-year-old Shepard.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Should see heavy snap count Monday
Shepard could be the Bucs' de facto No. 2 wide receiver for Monday's game against the Ravens if Mike Evans operates on a snap count while playing through a hamstring injury, Michael Baca of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Evans wasn't able to practice Thursday and Friday, though he doesn't carry an injury designation after logging a limited session Saturday. Shepard played a season-high 54 offensive snaps in the Bucs' Week 6 win over the Saints, during which he caught three passes on four targets for 23 yards. In that game, Evans played just 57 percent of the Bucs' offensive snaps, and if he's on a snap count against Baltimore, Shepard should see heavy work in two-wideout sets alongside Chris Godwin.
