Tournament Preview
This week the European Tour stays in South Africa, moving to Waterkloof, for the Tshwane Open. This is a tournament that has only been around since 2013 and is being contested at Pretoria CC for the third year in a row. Since the first two years were played on another course, we will only be looking at the last two years for course history. This is another tournament dominated by locals. In its short existence, three of the four winners have been from South Africa.
Pretoria is known for its scenic views and tight fairways. It had a major upgrade by the Gary Player Group in 2005. The course has fairways that are treelined, many bunkers and water on almost half of the holes. The course has seen a large amount of rain recently, so the rough will be thick and tough to get out of. Accuracy and ball striking is at a premium this week.

Dean Burmester - $11,800
Dean has great course history, with a T4 here last year and a T3 the year prior. His recent form has been solid, hitting 74 percent of GIR and finishing T11 last week at the Joburg Open with two other top-10s since the start of the calendar year. Burmester is riding seven consecutive made cuts.
George Coetzee - $11,600
Coetzee is playing his home course, and a course where he won this tournament in 2015. Although his accuracy isn't the best, his course history shows that he knows where to miss it. He is 68 percent in GIR, so he has that covered. His recent form has been very good with a T7 last week and another T7 earlier this month at the Dubai Classic.
Dylan Frittelli - $8,500
Dylan is another local who plays very well at this course. He was T14 last year and was T10 in 2015. Frittelli seems to be trending in the right direction with a couple made cuts, one of which was a T16 last week. He is 72 percent in GIR.
Trevor Fisher - $7,600
Trevor had a good showing last week at the Joburg Open with a T16. He is more than 60 percent in driving accuracy and is 74 percent in GIR. Fisher is a South African who has played this tournament every year since it's start in 2013. His best showings were T23 in 2015 and T10 in 2014. The 2014 event was held on a different course.
James Morrison - $7,500
Besides the name, there is still more to like about Jim Morrison. He has played some very good golf this season and each of the last three tournaments he has kicked it up a little more. James finished T4 last week, T12 at Maybank and T23 at the Dubai Classic. He is 69 percent in GIR and has a driving accuracy of 64 percent. He missed cut here in 2015 with two rounds of 72, but that was during a patch were he wasn't playing particularly well. He's a good value play.
Stuart Manley - $7,300
Stuart is coming in hot off three rounds of 67 at the Joburg Open. His T2 last week got him a spot at the Open Championship, later this year. His driving accuracy is near the top at 77 percent. Manley came in T29 here last year, his first time playing the tournament at Pretoria.
