Allianz Riviera, Nice

MATCH PREVIEW

England are ranked as the third-best side in the world and will take on Scotland in their opening Group D match in Nice on Sunday.

England, winners of the SheBelieves Cup in March, faced a setback before the mega-event with a 1-0 friendly defeat to New Zealand. That being said, Phil Neville's side defeated Spain 2-1 and Denmark 2-0 thanks to solid play from Ellen White, Manchester City Women FC's Nikita Parris, and Barcelona's Toni Duggan.

Scotland won back-to-back matches in the Algarve Cup in March by beating Iceland 4-1 and Denmark 1-0. Moreover, head coach Michelle Kerr will have huge trust in West Ham United Women FC's Jane Ross and Chelsea FC Women's Erin Cuthbert to pull a victory against England (W).

These two teams met once at the European Championship in 2017 when England handed a huge 6-0 defeat to Scotland in their first major international tournament.
