Liverpool v. Tottenham Hotspur

Anfield, Liverpool

MATCH PREVIEW

Liverpool look to regain their top spot in the Premier League  when they face Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday.

Liverpool are in tremendous form and are unbeaten in their last eight home matches against Spurs in all competitions. However, they have won just four of their last eight league matches, and this match is arguably their toughest.

As for Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino's men lost 2-1 to 16th-place Southampton in their last league match, but a victory over Liverpool would still bring them into the top four for a Champions League spot.

Meanwhile, there are few injury concerns, as Liverpool will be without Joe Gomez (broken leg) and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (ligament injury), while Tottenham Hotspur will miss out on Harry Winks (groin), Eric Dier (hip flexor) and Serge Aurier (hamstring).

PREDICTED LINEUP

Liverpool: Alisson Becker (GK), Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, James Milner, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane

Tottenham Hotspur: Hugo Lloris (GK), Danny Rose, Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Kieran Trippier, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Jordan Henderson, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min

Defender: Virgil van Dijk (9 credits): van Dijk has proven to be an outstanding attacking center-back, and while he is averaging 5.9 clearances, 0.9 tackles and 1.2 interceptions per match, he's also very solid in the attack with three goals and one assist this season.

Midfielder: Sadio Mane (10.5 credits): The Senegalese star is in red hot form, scoring 11 goals in his last 11 appearances for Liverpool, including seven in last five, and he'll continue to be a key attacking point for the Reds.

Forward: Mohamed Salah (10.5 credits): Salah may have 17 goals and seven assists in 31 games this season, but he found the back of the net just once in his last 10 matches.

Captain: Sadio Mane

Vice-Captain: Mohamed Salah
