Premier League Golden Boot Watch: Triple Favorites

For the first time this season we have a three-way tie for the best odds to finish as the Premier League's top scorer, and interestingly none of the three are in the top two for most goals actually scored.

After one week of being the lone favorite, Harry Kane fell from +400 despite scoring in the North London derby, re-joining Mohamed Salah at +450, while Jamie Vardy joined them after he scored a late winner against Sheffield United, leaving him level with Salah with nine goals this season. Kane is officially tied for fifth with eight goals despite being a co-favorite to win the Golden Boot, though Patrick Bamford, who also has eight goals, is way back at +3300, somehow falling from +2500 despite finding the back of the net against Chelsea.

The league leader in goals continues to be Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is slightly behind the three favorites at +500 after he scored against Burnley for his 11th of the season, giving him at least one in eight of 11 matches, never going back-to-back games without a goal. Kane's teammate, Son Heung-Min, is only one behind Calvert-Lewin after also scoring against Arsenal, and his +900 odds still seem like a decent number considering he has more goals than the three favorites and Vardy is the only one of the three to drop below +900 at any point this season.

We also had the first returner to the odds list, as Olivier Giroud dropped off the list toward the end of October at +15000 only to get re-added this week at +10000 following his goal against Leeds United. Of course, it was more likely his four goals against Sevilla in the Champions League earlier in the week that sparked interest in his Golden Boot potential, though Champions League goals don't count for anything when it comes to the Premier League award. And while we may hear from them again, James Rodriguez and Rhian Brewster are no longer being offered after each sitting at +15000 for a few weeks. Brewster still hasn't scored a league goal, so it was a bit surprising he was still on the list at all.

As of this week, Sergio Aguero (+6600) and Anthony Martial (+20000) are the only players being offered who haven't scored a Premier League goal, though they are only one goal behind Giroud, Mason Greenwood (+10000), Richarlison (+15000), Hakim Ziyech (+15000), Christian Pulisic (+15000), Kai Havertz (+20000) and Gareth Bale (+20000). Needless to say, they're going to have to go on one heck of a run to catch up to the league leaders.
