DraftKings MLB: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings MLB series.

PITCHER

Jake Arrieta, CHC vs. PIT ($11,100): Pittsburgh enters with the fourth-lowest wOBA (.307) against right-handed pitchers this season, so this is a ripe matchup considering Arrieta's recent form. He's allowed two runs or fewer in nine of his past 10 outings for a 1.85 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 22.1 strikeout percentage.

R.A. Dickey, ATL at PHI ($7,100): There have been a few rough outings along the way, but Dickey sports a target-worthy 2.74 ERA and 20.6 strikeout percentage through his past 12 starts. This salary is reasonable, and he lands in a solid matchup against the Phillies. Philadelphia owns a 23rd-ranked .311 wOBA with a sixth-highest 23.8 strikeout percentage against righties for the year.

CATCHER

Jonathan Lucroy, COL vs. DET ($3,500): Coors Field has been a welcomed boost for Lucroy's numbers, as he owns a .997 OPS and .422 wOBA through 45 home games since joining the Rockies. Opposing starter Michael Fulmer owns a 5.97 ERA through his past six outings, too.

FIRST BASE

Eric Thames, MIL vs. STL ($3,500): The drop off was coming for Thames, but he still owns a rock-solid .907 OPS, .282 ISO and .380 wOBA against right-handed pitchers for the season. Those numbers don't match his salary, and he also lands in a decent matchup with Luke Weaver surrendering a .349 wOBA to left-handed hitters during his career.

SECOND BASE

Brian Dozier, MIN vs. CSW ($4,500): While James Shields have been stingy against right-handed hitters this season (.300 wOBA allowed), Dozier is scorching hot and boasts a .405 wOBA against righties in August. Additionally, Shields 43.8 fly-ball percentage should help Dozier's upside.

THIRD BASE

Manny Machado, BAL vs. SEA ($5,400): The third baseman has found a groove in the second half with eight homers, 32 RBI and a .387 wOBA against righties in the second half. It's a sneaky matchup against Erasmo Ramirez, too. Through five starts with Seattle, Ramirez has held opponents to a .235 BABIP and owns a 4.91 FIP. There's potential for Machado to fly under the radar, and Ramirez is in a ripe spot for a poor showing.

SHORTSTOP

Alex Bregman, HOU vs. TEX ($4,700): While Martin Perez has pitched better of late (two runs or fewer in three of his past four outings), he's still allowed a .350 wOBA to right-handed hitters this season. Bregman has posted a monster .408 wOBA against lefties. His salary is manageable, too.

OUTFIELD

Gerardo Parra, COL vs. DET ($4,700): As noted, Michael Fulmer has struggled of late and a trip to Coors Field isn't a likely remedy. Parra enters with a .421 on-base percentage and .428 wOBA against righties at home this season, and he's locked into the heart of the Colorado lineup.

Dexter Fowler, STL at MIL ($4,300): With Matt Garza serving up a .362 wOBA and 36.9 hard-hit percentage to left-handed hitters, Fowler is a strong lean. The outfielder has posted a .960 OPS and .399 wOBA against right-handed pitchers since June 1, after all. Fowler's salary also doesn't align with his strong surge.

Kyle Schwarber, CHC vs. PIT ($4,200): A boom-or-bust flier, Schwarber owns a .254 ISO against right-handed hurlers this season and sports a much-improved .372 wOBA against righties since being recalled from his stint in the minors. Chad Kuhl has allowed a .367 wOBA and 36.8 hard-hit percentage to left-handed hitters, so there is plenty of upside built into Schwarber's salary.
