PITCHER
Dylan Bundy, BAL at SF ($7,400): The key to a successful DFS lineup, whether it is a cash or GPP, is to anchor it was a pitcher with a high strikeout rate. Bundy has been on fire over his last few outings with 2.76 ERA and 0.95 WHIP over the last month (six starts) fueled by 40 strikeouts over 29.1 innings. The Giants are in the middle of the pack for wOBA against right-handed pitching but are the third-worst in ISO (.135). While the Giants hold a low strikeout rate they have never seen Bundy pitch, a factor that usually works in the pitcher's favor.
CATCHER
Mike Zunino, SEA at OAK ($2,700): Mariners fans must be wondering why it took the big club so long to call up Zunino, who has an OPS over 1.000 since joining the team, and his 16:8 K:BB ratio is the best evidence of his improved approach at the plate. Zunino will face off against Sean Manaea, who has pitched better of late but not surprisingly has struggled against right-handed hitters, giving up a .357 wOBA.
FIRST BASE
Mitch Moreland, TEX vs DET ($3,000): Moreland has been swinging a hot bat since the All-Star break and the Rangers' offense as a whole has been on fire. Moreland is batting .324 over the second half of the season, including seven home runs, and he has always hit better at home. He's scored at least nine fantasy points in four of his last five games and has a favorable matchup against Anibal Sanchez, who has given up a whopping .391 wOBA on the road this year, and given the heat and humidity expected in Texas, this should be a high-scoring game.
SECOND BASE
Devon Travis, TOR vs HOU: If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Travis has been killing it in the leadoff spot for the Blue Jays, hitting safely in seven straight games while going 15-for-31 (.484) with three home runs, seven runs and seven RBI over that span. Joe Musgrove is making his first road start, and while he had success against Toronto in his first outing, it plays to the veteran bats of the Blue Jays that they've already seen him and will be in hitter-friendly Rogers Centre.
THIRD BASE
Jose Ramirez, CLE vs LAA ($3,000): It's tough to find a hotter hitter than Ramirez, who now has a 15-game hit streak. Over that time span he's gone 26-for-58 (.448) with three home runs, six doubles and four stolen bases. Tyler Skaggs has pitched well in a small sample but Ramirez has a .375 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season.
SHORTSTOP
Orlando Arcia, MIL vs CIN ($2,600): Arcia has been a staple at the top of the order over the last week and has reached base in every game since. He has hits in seven straight games, building a floor for his fantasy value, and has 24.8 and 27.9 fantasy points in two of his last six contests. Homer Bailey is still a wildcard as opposing pitchers go, but it's worth noting the Brewers have scored 15 runs over their last two games at home. Feel better about this pick if the roof is open.
OUTFIELD
David Dahl, COL at PHI ($3,200): This price still seems low for a guy who has consistently put up fantasy points since his call-up. He's hit safely in the last 10 games and has the advantage of hitting in a hitters' park in Philadelphia. Dalh's opponent, Jake Thompson, can't have a lot of confidence after allowing six earned runs over 4.2 innings in his first start, and against the Rockies at home is a taller task than the Padres at Petco Park.
Marcell Ozuna, MIA vs CHW ($3,100): In the first half of the season, Ozuna would have been one of the first hitters mentioned in this column. While everyone will continue to flock to Giancarlo Stanton, keep in mind that Ozuna still has a .431 wOBA against southpaws. That mark goes up to .517 at home, and opposing pitcher Carlos Rodon on the season has given up a .373 wOBA to right-handed hitters, putting Ozuna in a position to be an elite play.
Matt Joyce, PIT at LAD ($2,500): It's tough to know when Joyce is going to be in the starting lineup, but he smacked a home run while batting cleanup against a right-handed pitcher Sunday. While Chavez Ravine doesn't play as a hitters' park, it's worth noting that Ross Stripling is far from any type of elite prospect. Make sure Joyce is in the lineup before using him but at the very least he makes for a great contrarian play.
