Pitchers
Tommy Milone, $6,500 - Look, I'd pay up for Kershaw tonight, even on the road at Chicago. They strike out a ton and Rizzo and Fowler are both left-handed. That being said, if I want a cheap option, I think Milone is in play. He's home in a favorable ballpark and outside of Jose Abreu there aren't any hitters in the White Sox lineup I'm worried about that will hit a left-handed pitcher. Milone has 13 and 15 Fanduel points in his last two starts and for this price he's at least worthy of GPP consideration.
Catcher
Brian McCann, $3,500 - Granted, this isn't cheap but there aren't a ton of options at the position tonight. McCann is home in Yankee Stadium where he has over a 1.000 OPS this season and 26 home runs in less than the last season and a half. There are few other viable options at the position but if you're looking to save money, Yan Gomes ($2300) had the day off Sunday and gets the favorable righty vs. a lefty matchup.
First Base
Mark Teixeira, $3,500 - Calling pitchers failing is always 20/20 after the fact. Both Charlie Morton and Chris Young were due for letdowns Sunday and sure enough that's exactly what happened. There's a reason that Kevin Correia wasn't in a rotation to start the season and he's in line to get rocked. Don't be afraid to go with another lefty in the Yankees lineup, especially one who already has 18 home runs on the season.
Second Base
Brian Dozier, $3,900 - So if we're going with my cheap pitcher, there's the opportunity to take a bunch of higher priced options for the position players. Enter Dozier, a player who has been a mainstay at the leadoff spot for the Twins this season. Each of the last three seasons Dozier has hit lefties better than righties and he gets an almost perfect matchup against John Danks at home. Over those last three seasons Dozier has 17 home runs and 10 stolen bases in only 292 at-bats vs southpaws. That should be enough evidence to put him into your lineup.
Third Base
Kyle Seager, $3,100 - If you believe in Kevin Correia, I have another bridge to sell to you in Joe Blanton. Yes, that Joe Blanton. Seager has been in the middle of the order against right-handed pitchers and Blanton is a prime matchup. Over his last 557 at-bats vs righties Seager has 27 home runs and 95 RBI, what would be a great season by any means for a hitter. Don't worry about Safeco here.
Shortstop
Didi Gregorius, $2,600 - Another Yankee, I know. In fact, stacking Yanks might be the smart way tonight. Gregorius was fantastic until Sunday when he only went 1-for-4. However, he was moved to the top of the lineup and is worth the risk at the price.
Outfield
Ryan Raburn, $2,200 - It's always a pretty easy call to use Raburn when he's going against a lefty. Over 84 at-bats this season he has a .927 OPS and has been a mainstay at cleanup whenever the Indians face a southpaw. While it's a little Captain Obvious to use Raburn against a lefty, note that he's at the minimum price and that's what makes him a tough player to pass up.
Kevin Kiermaier, $2,600 - Kiermaier is in a mini-hot streak, going 3-for-7 over his last two games with a walk, two runs and a stolen base. He's been hitting in the leadoff spot for the Rays and draws a good matchup today against Drew Hutchison. Hutchison has struggled mightily on the road this season, posting a 9.46 ERA with a 1.89 WHIP. Kiermaier has 23 extra base hits on the season as well as seven stolen bases, showing that he's a good power/speed threat.
Kevin Pillar, $3,000 - Pillar has been one of the unsung fantasy heroes this season and quietly has six home runs, 10 stolen bases and 40 runs. He has multi-hit games in four of his last five games and gets a nice matchup against rookie Matt Andriese tonight. While everyone uses the players that are more recognizable on the Blue Jays, Pillar makes for a nice under-the-radar play.
