Closer Watch

San Diego Padres - Joaquin Benoit recorded his second save of the season Thursday, striking out a batter and facing the minimum to finish off the contest. However, likely the only reason he received the opportunity was because the normal closer, Craig Kimbrel, pitched each of the previous two nights. While the save conversion doesn't change much, it likely indicates he's next in line should something happen to Kimbrel.

Recommended Pickup

Justin Morneau, 1B, COL - As noted above, Morneau was activated from the disabled list Friday, and was inserted into the lineup in the fifth spot against the Giants. Given his long stint on the disabled list (out since mid-July), he may be available in some leagues. While it's unclear how much of a role he'll carve out upon his return to the club, the veteran has the ability to hit for both average and power (.290/.317/.450 batting line with three home runs in 27 games this season). When added to the fact that he plays in the hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field, he could be worth a pickup in leagues if unowned.

Other Recent Recommendations:Corey Seager, Didi Gregorius, Hector Olivera, Ben Paulsen, Jose Berrios and Stephen Piscotty

DraftKings Value Picks

P: Derek Holland, TEX ($7,200)
C: J.T. Realmuto, MIA ($3,100)

3B: Nick Castellanos, DET ($3,400)
SS: Tyler Saladino, CWS ($3,100)
