FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

FanDuel NBA: Friday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NBA series.

Wayne Ellington, MIA at BRK ($3,700) – Ellington makes for a great punt-play tonight provided Dion Waiters and his wonky ankle sit out again. The Nets are a great team to target for DFS and it's not out of the question to use three or more players against them. Ellington scored 19.9 fantasy points the other night with Waiters out, showing the ability to easily make 5X value. The Nets are giving up the second most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season, as well.

Michael Carter-Williams, CHI at PHO ($4,700) – MCW burned his DFS owners the other night in what appeared to be a perfect situation with no Jimmy Bulter or Dwyane Wade. Carter-Williams finished with 7.8 fantasy points and was heavily used in both GPPs and cash games. However, it's the previous two games that are worth noting when he had 40.2 and 43.8 fantasy points without Butler in the lineup. This is a good matchup as well, with Phoenix allowing opposing guards the second most fantasy points over its last five contests.

Derrick Rose, NY vs DEN ($6,200) – Rose had an ideal matchup against the Lakers his first game back and responded with only 11.3 fantasy points. That was probably a case of him shaking off the rust as he bounced back with 39.4 fantasy points against the Clippers on Wednesday night. With Emmanuel Mudiay out, an aging Jameer Nelson will be tasked with guarding Rose, and the Nuggets were already giving up the second most fantasy points to opposing point guards. Take a look at Will Barton ($5,700), who is another attractive option given what he's done over his last two games.

Brandon Ingram, LAL at MIL ($4,100) – Ingram's insertion into the starting lineup has helped his fantasy value, as he's scored 14, 14 and 15 actual points in the last three games while taking double-digit shots in each one and averaging over 30 minutes. Milwaukee is in a bit of disarray without Jabari Parker, and provided Giannis is guarding Ingram, it should be a good matchup.

Matt Barnes, SAC vs ATL ($5,100) – Barnes will be a chalky pick tonight but at this point it's too risky to fade him in cash games. Without Rudy Gay in the lineup he's seen an uptick in minutes, averaging 34 minutes this month (four games). He's responded with 25, 33.8, 34.3 and 32.3 fantasy points during that span, and Barnes can be counted on for a few assists as well, showing he's not scoring dependent.

Kristaps Porzingis, NY vs DEN ($6,800) – The time to "buy-low" on Porzingis may be coming quickly as he looked like his old self Wednesday against the Clippers. In only 27 minutes (foul trouble, as usual) he registered 40.2 fantasy points in what appeared to be a tough matchup. Tonight will be the opposite as he'll get a Denver team that has allowed the seventh most fantasy points to opposing power forwards over their last five and won't have the services of Kenneth Faried.

John Henson, MIL vs LAL ($3,900) – Jason Kidd has been kind to the DFS community and has already stated the both Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes have been ruled out for the Bucks' next two games. This secures Henson for at least 25 minutes, and he's scored 19, 25.9 and 32 fantasy points recently. The Lakers are a good team to pick on, as they've started something of a youth movement (as mentioned earlier with Ingram) and Henson should be able to take advantage. Over their last five games, the Lakers are giving up 60.6 fantasy points to opposing centers (second most), practically guaranteeing 5X value here. Dewayne Dedmon ($3,700) is another punt option, but given the expected pace of that game, Henson is a more attractive option.

Marcin Gortat, WAS vs IND ($7,000) – This isn't a value by any means, and to be honest, Myles Turner ($6,400) seemed to be the better value. That being said, Gortat has been a beast lately looking, scoring at least 33 fantasy points in his last seven games — a value of at least 4.7x in each. Henson seems like the safest cash-game play at the position, but Gortat's numbers put him in play for any format.
