Monday was a mighty rough day here as the smalls schools decided to get frisky and go crazy with their random results. It happens from time-to-time and we move on. Today's schedule is a very interesting one with only 12 games on the slate but many of them from the Power 5. As we get further into conference play, results start to shift, and the non-con results become less meaningful. Here's a nice, cozy, winning day on this brutally cold January morning.

Milwaukee Panthers at IPFW Mastodons 
After a 3-0 start to Horizon play, Milwaukee hit the difficult part of their conference schedule. The Panthers now take to the road for three straight, but they are against teams towards the bottom half of the league, starting today at Fort Wayne. IPFW comes in on a three-game win streak, but those wins were by three, two and five, respectively. The Panthers crushed the Mastodons by 22 in Milwaukee on December 29 and not much has changed with these teams. IPFW might get revenge and the win, but I see this one being tight.

Houston Cougars vs Arizona State Sun Devils 
I normally look to fade Houston when giving this many points, but I'm doing the opposite here in this lopsided mismatch. This is just a horrible spot for ASU, coming off sprint at rival KenPom No. 2 Arizona on Wednesday and now downshifting completely to the rockfight that will be No. 7 Houston. The Devils have been brutal away from home with losses of 13 at No. 41 UCLA, 28 at No. 15 BYU, and 7 at No. 2 Arizona. The showing against the Cats was honorable, but following it up with a trip to Houston is tough for any team. I don't see ASU having much left in the tank for this one.

Washington State Cougars at San Francisco Dons 
I'm as surprised as you are seeing Wazzu appear here, but that's life on a skinny Sunday. In all seriousness, the Cougs have kept things close on the road in WCC play, with a win at No. 195 Portland and a hard-fought six-point loss at No. 32 Saint Mary's last Saturday. The Dons are not quite the same team they have been the last few years and generally play tight games, particularly at home. These teams are similar in a lot of ways, and I see this one being close throughout.
