The 2025-26 NCAA Men's College Basketball season is about to move front and center, as football has just one game remaining. On Saturday, it's a slate chock full of action, with 17 ranked teams hitting the hardwood, including a ranked battle between SMU and Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C. at 2 p.m. EST on ESPN.
We're here to help provide a trio of picks on select days throughout the week, hopefully helping you get into the black, as hurtle into 2026. It's never too early to start squirreling away money for March Madness.
College Basketball PrizePicks Picks & Strategy
If you're unfamiliar with how to play, you must simply choose at least two players from any sport and pick more or less based on their projected statistics to win. We'll obviously be exclusively selecting college hoops players, but you can mix and match from various other sports. You can also go with a flex play, meaning you still can have a winning night even if you have one losing selection. Or, you can go big and choose the power play, which pays out higher. However, you must hit all ends to win. Let's get started.

Jason Edwards, G, Providence
The Friars of Providence hit the road for a Big East conference game against the Musketeers of Xavier at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati.
Xavier has allowed 86 or more points in three of the past five outings, and it has been defensively challenged most of the season with 75.3 points per game (PPG) allowed, while teams are hitting 46.4 percent from the field against the Musketeers. That ranks 307th in the country, while Xavier allows teams to hit 33.8 percent from behind the arc, ranking 222nd overall.
While that seems like great news for Edwards, he has really been slumping lately. He went for a season-low eight points, while adding just two rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes against UConn in a 103-98 overtime loss. In the past three games, he is shooting just 25.8 percent (8-for-31), while averaging just 9.7 PPG, 2.7 APG and 2.3 RPG. As such, his projections are a little too high despite the struggling defense for Xavier.
CBB PrizePicks Selection: Jason Edwards, Less 23.5 Pts+Rebs+Asts
JT Toppin, F, Texas Tech
Toppin and the 14th-ranked Red Raiders hit the road for the CU Events Center in Boulder to tangle with the Buffaloes in a Big 12 conference tilt.
The Buffs have really had a difficult time on the defensive end of the floor, allowing 77.9 PPG (225th), 45.0 percent from the field (265th) and an awful 36.6 percent from behind the three-point line (331st). Colorado has allowed at least 73 points in each of the past five games, including 86 or more points in two of the previous three outings.
Toppin has to be licking his chops at the prospects of facing the very giving Buffs. He has recorded four straight double-doubles, but unfortunately he isn't offered as a Pts+Rebs play. He has gone for 18 or more points in five of the past six games, and 10 of his 14 outings this season. Go high, and don't look back.
CBB PrizePicks Selection: JT Toppin, More 18.5 Points

Latrell Wrightsell, G, Alabama
You're probably noticing a trend by now. The best course of action is to target awful defensive teams, and then cross-check the other team's red-hot players to take advantage of the situation. Sometimes, like Edwards above, we'll still end up going low, even with a juicy matchup.
That's not the case with Wrightsell, however. He has posted at least 13 points in two of the past three games, and he has knocked down a total of nine three-points in that three-game span. He isn't the primary scoring option for the Crimson Tide, but he is an instrumental part of the offense.
Wrightsell will be facing a Texas defense which has allowed 74.2 PPG (149th), 42.6 percent from the field (128th) and 34.6 percent from behind the three-point line (263rd). The points allowed isn't that bad, but in SEC play, the Longhorns are 0-2, allowing 101 points in an OT loss to Mississippi State, and 85 points at Tennessee.
CBB PrizePicks Selection: Latrell Wrightsell, More 11 Points
