WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
This matchup between the Liberty and the Dream is not only the marquee matchup of Saturday's three-game slate, but it's also a game in which the top spot of the Eastern Conference might be at stake. The Dream sit in first place with a 23-13 record, while the Liberty only sit one game behind them at 22-14. Neither team has been particularly dominant of late, though the Dream have a slight edge when looking at recent form with a W3, L2 record -- as opposed to New York's W2, L3 mark.
From a DFS perspective, this could be a productive matchup. Atlanta features the interesting trio of Brionna Jones (12.6 points, 7.2 rebounds per game), Rhyne Howard (16.5 points) and Allisha Gray (18.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists per game). However, Gray is perhaps the lone valuable option to anchor a lineup. The Liberty have some players who could be popular targets as well, mainly Jonquel Jones and Sabrina Ionescu. However, the latter is a GTD due to a foot injury and has been slumping with her shot of late. Meanwhile, Jones is averaging a solid 16.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game since the All-Star break.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The Aces have the biggest spread of this three-game slate, and it's not even close, meaning they're widely expected to cruise to another victory against a Mystics team that's slowly beginning to think about how they'll plan for the 2026 season. The Aces have been red-hot of late, and their 83-61 dominant victory over the Mercury pushed their winning streak to a season-high nine games while moving them to second place in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, the Mystics are coming off a 67-56 loss to the Sun and have dropped two straight and three of their last five.
We have two words for this game from a DFS perspective: A'ja Wilson. The star center has been key for the Aces' revival in the second half of the season, and she's expected to be a popular name in most lineups despite being the most expensive player in both FanDuel and DraftKings. She's averaging 23.4 points, 11.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.6 steals per game since the All-Star break, but she's not the lone player to watch in this slate. Chelsea Gray (11.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists per game) and Jackie Young (16.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists) are valuable options for Las Vegas, whereas the rookie duo of Sonia Citron (15.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.1 steals per game) and Kiki Iriafen (12.8 points, 8.6 boards per contest) is worth keeping close tabs on for managers looking to assemble a Washington-centered lineup.

WNBA DFS Showdown Picks and Lineup Building Strategy
The matchup between the Sun and the Sky doesn't have a lot of playoff implications. After all, these are two of the three worst teams in the WNBA when it comes to their winning percentages. Connecticut has the worst record in the league at 8-27 and a .229 winning percentage, but the team seems to be turning things around of late with three wins out of their last four contests. They might have a shot at ending the campaign with double-digit wins. The Sky have a 9-26 record and a .257 winning percentage, but they have dropped four of their last five. That said, their most recent contest ended with a surprising, confidence-boosting 91-85 win over the Liberty.
Even though both teams have been enduring a fair share of struggles throughout the season, there are some interesting pieces to target to assemble a competitive lineup. Some of the players to keep close tabs on Connecticut are Marina Mabrey (14.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists) and Tina Charles (16.1 points, 5.9 rebounds), and even Aaliyah Edwards, who has been productive off the bench of late. Meanwhile, the Sky have the frontcourt duo of Kamilla Cardoso (13.0 points and 8.4 boards per contest) and Angel Reese (14.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists), as they should handle most of the workload on offense considering the GTD tag of Ariel Atkins (probable due to a leg problem).
WNBA DFS Picks Today
DraftKings:
DraftKings features three slates for today's action. There's a "Main" slate with all three games, and it also has a "Showdown" slate specifically for the Connecticut vs. Chicago matchup. Here are some of the best options you can find for this slate in DraftKings, headlined by A'ja Wilson, who figures to be the top player selected in Saturday's slate across all platforms.
- A'ja Wilson ($13,800)
- Kiki Iriafen ($9,400) and Sonia Citron ($9,000)
- Rhyne Howard ($10,400)
We know what Wilson can bring to the table, but the fact that she's the most expensive player on the slate (on both FanDuel and DraftKings) tells a lot about how she's perceived for this contest. The star center has been on a tear of late with six double-doubles over her previous seven appearances and is averaging a solid line of 24.4 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 blocks per game since the beginning of August. Few players can match her elite production on both ends of the court. With the Aces absolutely trending in the right direction, Wilson is undoubtedly the best option to anchor lineups in this three-game slate, though adding the Aces' star center would mean managers would have to find value in other selections due to the hefty tag that accompanies her.
The rookie duo of Citron and Iriafen has been the only bright spot for the Mystics this season, and the two first-year players have carried the team offensively throughout the bulk of the campaign. Iriafen has been playing very well of late and enters this game having recorded five double-doubles over her previous six games, averaging 15.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game over that six-game stretch. She's also been remarkably consistent as a scorer with double-digit points in all but three of her 14 games since the All-Star break. As for Citron, she's posted excellent scoring numbers and is on a seven-game streak of scoring at least 15 points, a stretch in which she's averaging a robust line of 19.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per outing.
Howard and Gray are similar options when it comes to salary and projected production. Still, Howard gets a slight edge here since she's projected to be slightly more productive while holding a smaller value tag. Thus, don't be afraid to rely on the four-year veteran forward as one of your go-to pieces on offense for this slate. Howard is averaging 16.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game this season, but her shooting might be a bit concerning since she's making a career-worst 30.5 percent of her three-point attempts. She's also averaging 16.5 ppg in her six outings since returning from an injury that sidelined her for 10 games between July 13 and Aug. 7.
Unlocking Value: WNBA DFS Sleeper Picks
- Aaliyah Edwards ($4,300)
- Stefanie Dolson ($3,900)
- Brittney Griner ($6,600)
FanDuel:
Similar to DraftKings, FanDuel will offer the same slate for Saturday's action: a "main" slate for all three games and a "SingleGame" option for the Sun vs. Sky contest, which is the latest contest of the agenda. Unsurprisingly, Wilson is the most expensive player on the slate by a wide margin, but here are other options to consider while assembling your lineup.
- Jonquel Jones ($7,200)
- Angel Reese ($7,300) and Kamilla Cardoso ($7,000)
- Allisha Gray ($7,000)
On normal conditions, Jones could be considered the Liberty's third-best player behind Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart. However, Ionescu has been dealing with a foot injury of late and has had several inefficient stretches, while Stewart has been sidelined since July 26 due to a right knee injury and doesn't have a clear date to return. This means Jones has to step up on both ends of the court, and the center has done precisely that -- and then some. Jones is averaging a solid 16.9 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game since the All-Star break.
Angel Reese is carrying a GTD tag due to a back injury, and even though she's listed as probable, she might be limited for this game. Thus, it wouldn't be the worst thing to rely on Cardoso for production in this contest. Reese has been productive since returning from a back injury that kept her sidelined for seven games and has averaged 20.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 27.5 minutes over her past two outings. Meanwhile, Cardoso totaled 22 points (8-9 FG, 6-6 FT), 15 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 34 minutes in Thursday's 91-85 win over the Liberty. She's averaging 14.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 blocks per game since the beginning of August.
Gray has been the leading scorer for the Dream this season ahead of Rhyne Howard, but in reality, choosing either player would be a solid move -- even if the matchup against the Liberty is complicated on paper. Gray has been the most consistent scorer for the Dream this season, and she's averaging a solid line of 19.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game since the All-Star break. Fantasy managers who decide to go with Howard for this game would also make a savvy decision, though, as outlined in our DraftKings analysis.
