FanDuel MLB: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

PITCHER

Robbie Ray, ARI vs. LAD ($8,500): Dating back to last season, the Dodgers have the worst wOBA against lefties in the league with a .276 mark and also boast a target-worthy 22.2 percent strikeout rate. Ray has only allowed four earned runs over 18.1 innings through his first three starts and has 24 punchouts for a 31.6 percent strikeout rate of his own.

CATCHER

J.T. Realmuto, MIA at SD ($2,600): Dating back to last season, Realmuto sports a .361 on-base percentage and .348 wOBA against right-handed hurlers and should have a solid showing against Jered Weaver. The veteran has allowed a .358 wOBA and 39.5 hard-hit percentage to right-handed hitters since 2015, after all.

FIRST BASE

Carlos Santana, CLE at CWS ($4,000): With a .991 OPS through his past six games, Santana is settling into the season and offers a high-floor, high-ceiling combo in this matchup. He's posted a .370 on-base percentage, .275 ISO and .383 wOBA against righties dating back to last year, and Mike Pelfrey has served up a .395 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

SECOND BASE

Joe Panik, SF at COL ($3,600): While Antonio Senzatela has pitched well to start the season (2.90 FIP), he's facing the Giants for the second consecutive start at Coors Field. Panik sports a career .349 on-base percentage and .334 wOBA against right-handed hurlers and also grabs the Coors boost.

THIRD BASE

Travis Shaw, MIL vs. STL ($3,600): It's still too early to evaluate Lance Lynn with just three starts under his belt since returning from Tommy John surgery, but his 5.03 FIP isn't daunting. Shaw has been piling up extra-base hits (13 through 17 games) this season and sports a .313 ISO against right-handed hurlers.

SHORTSTOP

Troy Tulowitzki, TOR at LAA ($3,100): Hitting in the heart of the lineup and sporting a .354 wOBA against southpaws dating back to 2015, Tulowitzki offers promise at this salary. Tyler Skaggs has been hit hard in two of his first three starts and owns a 4.34 FIP, too.

OUTFIELD

Hunter Pence, SF at COL ($4,000): With the Coors Field boost, Pence ranks high in our MLB lineup optimizer. He sports a .363 on-base percentage and .339 wOBA against righties over the past two seasons and, as noted, facing Senzatela for the second time in less than a week should provide a soft matchup.

Jose Bautista, TOR at LAA ($2,900): With a .473 OPS, it's been a miserable start for Bautista, but he hit his first home run Friday, and has a solid track record against lefties. Skaggs doesn't present a tough matchup, and Bautista entered 2017 with a .388 wOBA against southpaws over the previous three seasons.

Kole Calhoun, LAA vs. TOR ($2,600): Casey Lawrence will be making the first start of his career, which boosts Calhoun's upside. The outfielder owns a respectable .331 wOBA and 35.4 hard-hit percentage against righties dating back to last season, and he's locked into the two-hole in front of Mike Trout.
