Yahoo DFS Basketball: Wednesday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Basketball series.

After failing to get the job done Monday, the Suns will once again try to close out their series against the Clippers, this time in Game 6 on the road. This matchup also provides an opportunity to play Yahoo's single game contest.

In addition to selecting two flex players, there are three multiplier positions in this single-game format. A player slotted into the Megastar spot will earn double their fantasy points scored. The Superstar spot will earn 1.5X their fantasy points scored. Finally, the Star will earn 1.2X their fantasy points scored. With that in mind, let's discuss some players to consider.

MULTIPIERS

Paul George ($44): Talk about stepping up in a big spot. With the Clippers facing elimination in Game 5, George shot 15-for-20 from the field and 8-for-8 from the free-throw line on his way to scoring 41 points. He also chipped in 13 rebounds, six assists and three steals. For the series, he's now averaging 30.2 points, 10.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.4 steals. With all of the shot attempts and minutes that he can handle coming his way with Kawhi Leonard (knee) out, he's arguably the top option for a multiplier spot.

Chris Paul ($32): Paul remains in a funk from behind the arc, shooting just 2-for-16 across the three games that he's played against the Clippers. He was more consistent from two-point range in Game 5, though, finishing with 22 points to go along with eight assists. Even with his shooting problems, he's scored at least 32.3 Yahoo points in all three games, thanks in large part to his ability to rack up assists.

Reggie Jackson ($20): Jackson has earned himself a lot of money this offseason with how well he's played. Since Leonard went down, Jackson has averaged 22.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 3.1 three-pointers across seven games. He's scored at least 20 points in four of the five games in this series and has received a ton of playing time, which means he has the potential to continue to be productive in this contest.

FLEX PLAYS

Marcus Morris Sr. ($15): With Ivica Zubac (knee) out Monday, Morris moved into the starting five. He dominated in the first half on his way to finishing the game with 30.6 Yahoo points. Most of his contributions were limited to the scoring column, but the fact that he played 39 minutes was encouraging. If Zubac is out again, Morris could provide significant value.

DeMarcus Cousins ($10): While the Clippers turned to a small starting five with Zubac out, Cousins abused Dario Saric during his minutes off the bench. He was jacking up shots at a rapid pace, finishing with 15 points and 24.9 Yahoo points across 11 minutes. If Zubac is unable to play, then Cousins could be worth taking a chance on in tournament play given his minimum salary.

PLAYER TO AVOID

Jae Crowder ($17): Crowder had another quiet scoring night in Game 5, finishing with four points on just six shot attempts. He has attempted a total of 24 shots over the last four games, which has contributed to him scoring 16.8 Yahoo points or fewer in each contest. With Paul, Devin Booker ($34) and Deandre Ayton ($30) all healthy, Crowder should continue to have a limited offensive role.
