Celtics Top Wizards, 130-121
The Boston Celtics defeated the Washington Wizards, 130-121, at TD Garden on Sunday evening.

The Celtics (16-4) opened the game in trademark dominant fashion despite being without Jayson Tatum (ankle), racing out to a 35-26 lead over the Wizards (10-10) through one and extending their advantage to 17 points by halftime. Given Boston's body of work this season, that already seemed to strongly prognosticate a comfortable win, but the hosts added another eight points to their edge in the third quarter courtesy of a 41-point haul during the period, giving them enough cushion to withstand Washington outscoring them by a 33-17 margin in the final 12 minutes.

Bradley Beal led the Wizards with 30 points, supplementing them with five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Kristaps Porzingis provided 21 points, four boards and two assists. Monte Morris delivered 16 points, eight assists and three rebounds. Taj Gibson poured in 12 points. Deni Avdija managed 10 points, three assists, one rebound and one steal.

Jaylen Brown paced the Celtics with 36 points, complementing them with five rebounds and two assists. Malcolm Brogdon supplied 17 points, six boards and four assists. Derrick White managed 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Sam Hauser all contributed 14 points while recording four, three and five rebounds, respectively, and Smart also dishing out seven assists.

The Wizards return home to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night, while the Celtics remain home and host the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night as well.
