Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Roles
Team: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Last Update:   3/21/2024
RB Overview
Role Security: Very High
03/21/24- Rachaad White is currently the every down RB. White will be used as a runner, receiver and goal-line option. Chase Edmonds is the No. 2 and will see change-of-pace touches. Sean Tucker will compete for a role during training camp.
WR Overview
03/21/24- Mike Evans was the preferred receiving option for Baker Mayfield last year. Evans should continue to lead the Buccaneers in targets. Chris Godwin is the No. 2 option. Godwin's targets were unreliable on a week-to-week basis last year. It's possible that Godwin continues to have unpredictable weekly usage. The Tampa Bay coaching staff is on record saying that Godwin will see more work in the slot than he did in 2023. The clear No. 3 is Trey Palmer. Palmer may be moved out of the slot at times if Godwin is going to see more work there. Palmer is likely to see at least a few targets in most games. Deven Thompkins and Rakim Jarrett will compete for depth roles.
TE Overview
03/21/24- Cade Otton is the clear lead receiving TE. His targets were inconsistent from week-to-week last year, and that erratic usage is likely to occur again this season.
